The correct way to play electric bass is to put the bass across your lap while seated, press notes required on the frets with your left fingers and hit the string with a xylophone mallet in your right hand.
To stabilize the bass you strap the body to your right thigh.

No...he's not even in the same ballpark. He is just trying to be clever by ripping Leo's idea off. But no-one is falling for such chicanery and shenanigans.

If one of the musicians of a band doesn't show up, it's always the singer who helps out by playing their instruments.
Roadies have the whole packing and unpacking gear down to a science and have incorporated a few shortcuts to make things easier and cheaper. For instance, the lead singer normally has several mics, many of which are expensive and easily ruined with dust, dirt or moisture. The roadie solution, slip each mic inside a condom to protect it when not in use. This is a very effective storage method but considering the number of mics and the cost of condoms can also be a bit expensive, so seasoned roadies will take the time to check backstage and in the dressing room for used condoms, which work just as well.
