Let's spread some musical misinformation

They were made from left over parts of VolksWagen Beetle cars. This was in honour of the original American bass, which was of course made from recycled Cadillac Fenders.
Count Basie was a real count & Earl Hooker was a real Earl.
The king of rock 'n' roll, however, wasn't a real king. He only made it to prince royal.

A new combo instrument is being developed by Gibson. It is a combined bass and drum and is called the "Bum".

Slapping your Bum will be easy. You can pick it too.

Available in several sizes, you want big sound you'll need a big Bum.
TalkBass will start a new forum for those bummers.

Gibson will be on the leading edge of the resurgence of surf rock and will bring out the beach bum to exploit the trend.

Desert music never caught on the same way surf music did.

A rival group called the The Desert Boys was formed to start the trend in 1963 but they got lost in the Sonora and were never heard from again.

"Ride,Ride,Ride the Wild Sand" was a one hit wonder some time later by another group:- "The Saharas "

"Sand City USA " was another attempt at the charts that went nowhere.

A movie was made called "Sandblanket Bingo" ..but fizzled.

Metallica tried to revive the genre decades later with the song "Enter Sandman". A hit song for them but did nothing for desertheads or the desert movement.

The genre was resurrected with moderate success by Oasis.
