Notes properly played on a fretless bass bloom to pitch, but wither and die quickly if there's not enough mwah-ter to support them. Having an ample mix of wet to dry signal is critical in the fretless world.

The highest recorded incidents of a woman running off with a bassist is at wedding gigs.

After the bride and groom exchange vows, the bride always gets a crush on the bassist in the hired band.

When asked about it, brides said they felt "trapped" after the wedding ceremony and envied the freedom of the bass player because bass players always seem to project an aura of quiet independence and mystery. They said the bass player has replaced The Marlboro Man as an icon of intrigue.
