ExactlyI can see where Victor added a whammy bar..
I'm sour on it.What did you think of his followup album "Pickle West"?
He actually built it based on early Egyptian Hieroglyphics, discovered at dig siteEvery bass player owes a debt to Charles "Chuck" Snuckers III
He invented the bass amp--in 1974.

I had a "Snuckman Blaster" combo which I bought new. Snuckers marketed his amps through Sears at the time. I paid $8.95 and it came with a free instrument cord and a "How To Play Bass" book.
It was 2 watts output with a cab that measured 6ft high by 5ft wide and 4ft deep. It boasted two 15 inch speakers.
And TBers said that 2 10" speakers would be more efficient and louder.
I wouldn't worry about the white vans. They are harmless. The silent black helicopters are the ones you should be scared of.Anybody that wanted the "Philadelphia" sound would use a Snuckman Blaster.
TalkBass was unheard of at the time. Contrary to popular belief most bassists used a Vox bass with a built in amp in those days not the Fender-P.
Most records of that era, it's a Vox not a Fender.
To get the legendary sound you turn your Vox onboard amp all the way up and run it into the Snuckman with an 8 gauge cable which has a splitter to two cables.
You run the second cable back around to the Vox again and this gives you double the power.
Shown here is a Vox Apache...the bass that revolutionized the recording industry
when combined with a Snuckman Blaster.

The amp shown below was alleged to have been based on the design of the original Snuckman combo.
Only 2300 Snuckman Blasters were ever made. Over time it is rumored that they were all bought up by amp makers and destroyed.
The one I had was mysteriously stolen one night. The day before I saw a white cube van circling the block numerous times where I lived.

The proof of the pudding is in the eating. That's why Sid Vicious wasn't popular at all. He played a white bass and stood in the spotlights, next to the singer.Bass playing is all about subtle ambiance. Bass pros will all tell you the secret to success is to go completely Ninja, silently and stealthily delivering your bass lines from the shadows at the rear of the stage. Wear black clothes and a black hat, play a black bass with a dark fretboard and plug into a rig with blacked out grill cloth. Ideally no one should ever know you were on stage so always avoid the spot lights. The absolute best at this was the bass player for The Doors. To this day people still disagree if The Doors even had a bass player, what his name was or what he looked like. He was that good!
Elton John invented funk.
7 string basses should be strung A B C D E F G so that only sharps and flats require fretting.
Unable to surpass Elmo in record sales or notoriety, a dejected Richard Newell retreated to his tour bus which he found wanting. He redesigned it, and when concerned friends visited hoping to cheer him up, they were astounded by it. Word spread and soon he found success building the most elaborate tour busses available.Richard Newell ( King Biscuit Boy) was well aware that he had competition from Elmo.
This album cover photo was taken when an industry rep told him that Elmo was ahead of him in record sales.
Note the extended middle finger of his right hand...... a surreptitious insulting gesture to the croaky puppet..

Like Huey Lewis said: "It's Hip To Be Square".It's precisely because strings are round that no-one seems to ever get the exact tone they want.
Audio tests have proven over and over again that square strings are better.
Square dancers have known for decades that in music anything square is better.
Square drums sound better than round ones too.
The expression "Let's get squared away" was used by early jazz musicians.
In the fifties, hip musicians would often lovingly refer to other non-musicians as "squares", meaning the person was a "diamond in the rough".
Most bass amp makers use a square cube cab design to counteract the shortcomings of the round bass string.
All sheet music is written on a rectangular piece of paper which is as close to a square as they can get.
Music written on a circular piece of paper will sound atrocious when played.
The Square Of Fifths should be experienced by everyone at least once. Yes..it's that good.
So good they had to downgrade it to the Circle Of Fifths because they believed the average person couldn't handle listening to something so beautiful.
Square records sound immensely better than the circular vinyl LP and CD.
It was just laziness and economics on the part of record-makers that resulted in round records.
