Let's spread some musical misinformation

Opera was actually invented by any early art prank group akin to the later Dada group, but no-one realised it was supposed to be a joke. It is little known that Bob Dylan is an ardent devotee of Dada...

The notion that Dada is a modern art movement is, of course, a common misconception: a re-invention if you like. In fact, Dada originated during 18th Egyptian dynasty which ironically also left us mummies.

Spontaneous combustion is now a huge problem in the bassplaying world.

Gigging bass players are erupting into flames by the dozen every weekend...at venues everywhere.

Clubs are getting scared and insisting any band that plays on their premises must bring a minimum of three dry-chem extinguishers.

Researchers are at a loss to explain the phenomena.

I believe that a number of former Spinal Tap drummers have taken up bass.

More and more bands are deciding to play for free. They regard making money from playing as 'selling out" to the "man".

Many players, when interviewed, say " Why not play for free? It's about the music afterall isn't it? What's money got to do with it?"

Venue owners say " We always observe that the bands are here just to have a good time and escape the financial pressures so common these days. They just want to forget about the almighty dollar and feel at peace with the world around them".

Fender has long produced the Bass Breaker amp for guitars. The company has now announced two new additions to the line. There will be the Tuna Thumper for bass and the Sardine Snapper for mandolin.

These amps will be waterproof, so you can plug them in when:

Often people will sing in the shower and then graduate to playing bass in the shower..

Early tests with the Mackerel Mallet keyboard amp indicate that it tends to be a little flat.

A recent study by music economists at the Wharton school have shown that dancing bass players get paid twice as much. Twerking is a rare skill amongst bassists, so results were not statistically significant, but there was a trend showing that a twerking bass player could make 20 times that of a non-dancing bass player.
