Let's spread some musical misinformation

String instruments are called that because in the very early days, the strings were actually made of string. When the move was made to more resonant metal materials, it was proposed, and unanimously declined to change the name from "string" to "wire" instruments.

The Progressive Folk Rock band String Driven Thing got their name from their initial reluctance to use wire in place of string. It was only through the persistance of bass player Colin Wilson that they eventually gave in to modernity.

This is given as the reason why the machine cried.

Fender has filed for bankruptcy. This time for good.

A spokesman said " Everybody talks big about our P-basses. But no one is buying them "

I heard Apple is going to buy Fender, and bring out the iP bass. It'll be twice the price but much shinier.

Gibson is going to buy the Squier name. It will remain the same except with a specially weakened headstock.

All Fender production will be re-located to the Philippines for taxation purposes, and the new start-up production facility will launch the new brand in the flagship signature store Phender.

Frankenbasses have much higher resale value than stock basses.

Bass players hate factory stock basses, regardless of brand or year, and consider them junk. All bassplayers pretend they like a new bass they just bought, when in fact they hate them.
Upon unboxing a new bass within minutes the stock pups, strings, electronics, neck, knobs, tuners, bridge and body are replaced with good-quality aftermarket parts.
Frankenbasses are superior in every aspect and any bass player will tell you that.

Bass experts say that Leo never got it right at all and neither did any other manufacturer that came before or after him.

A FrankenSquier commands top dollar every time one is for sale. FrankenEpi's are in constant demand.

Home-made FrankenRat basses are the hottest selling basses of all time.

FrankenHofner Violas do very very well at charity auctions.

Often viola players bid on those Hofners and then why their orchestra leader asks them not to use it.

America's Horse With No Name was actually about a horse with a name but that horse's name was A Man Called Horse - or Dick, for short - named after the movie of the same name. And so, for copyright reasons, they had to pretend he didn't have a name.

Heavily DYI relic'd '51 P-Basses with hand wound single coil vintage pickups and after market tort pickguards may become a collector's item.
