Let's spread some musical misinformation

"Do be do ski-dadally do be do wha be bop ba-ding " was the code for "The English Airmen must be moved from Renee's cafe tonight"
"'allo 'allo" was Top Secret Scatting (TSS) for "That's not in the script. Write this down". More than just a greeting, it was a very cunning code.

I will say this only once. There was a stupid woman involved. It's a well kept secret, to this day, but it may well have been Madonna, during her Hairy Armpit period. No one will ever know. It was a close shave because there was a very odd gendarme always pissing by at the tome and the whole operation was on vary shaky grind.

Regarding George Formby: He was a time-traveling MI6 00 agent - Code-Name: Jack Sparrow - who, as a cover, and also as a tidy little income, off-the-books, ran a backstreet militaria shop somewhere in Chiswick, after the war. 'Béla Fleck' is another of George's many aliases. Still in active service, he's well worth checking out. Just don't get on the wrong side of him, if you know what's good for you.

Due to customer pressure, Fodera has dropped Mike Pope FlexCore preamps and is now installing Belcat EQ-B2T 2 band preamps in all but it's low-end basses. The low-ends have no preamp.

on internet groups such as talkbass, many misunderstand the use of the terms high end bass and low end bass thinking that it refers to price point or quality. High end basses are strung DGCF, low end basses are strung BEAD. The majority of players have midrange instruments strung EADG.

If you bake your bass strings in the oven and put them on the bass whilst they are still warm, they never go out of tune.

It's also how you get that sought-after warm tone, or at least for half an hour. The warm tone is associated with the blues because the Mississippi Delta is so hot the strings are always the temperature of just having been in an oven as they are in an oven.

Yes, but don't forget when it's impractical to bake your strings, simply put them in that deep fat fryer full of bacon grease. You can't get a warmer, deeper, fatter tone than this.

It's also important to never wipe the fat off the strings as this is an excellent way to keep the fretboard oiled and in great shape for years to come.

To ensure the best deepest tone, perform this operation in the basement or at the lowest lever of your property.

Some say that if you polish them beforehand, they sound brighter too.

There are endless blind alleys we've all gone down because of bad advice. But then again, musicians will be musicians . . . . here's a true story:

I was working in music stores when SPINAL TAP came out. Later, DiMarzio began selling sets of '11' knobs as a gag and a nod to the movie, and we had some in the store.

So one day the local hotshot comes in, sees them, we have a laugh and put them on his Strat. See ya 'round . . . . .

He comes back a week later, concerned look on his face. Says his guitar has sounded 'different' since we put those knobs on ( . . . . . . !!!!), and a bud told him he needed to have the '10' pots traded out to '11' pots with a different cap to make the knobs work right, and did we have any '11' pots yet?

So . . . . . I looked him square in the eye, told him they were back-ordered, but I'd sure call him when they came in, and we'd get him fixed right up.

He went away happy at that answer.

For the best tone on a goth record, it is best to set up the recording studio in a crypt*.

(* I have actually played in a cemetry chapel of rest at a public gig, not for a funeral).

Note that the Chicago Blues has a colder tone, as Chicago is colder. Northern Canada has produced no music of note as it is so cold the tone of stringed instruments is so clean as to be inaudible. Rush has had to fight, even in Toronto, with lots of overdrive for the bass to make it loud enough on records. It is why they also recorded some of the 70s output in Wales, seeking a naturally warmer tone, but simply made the record sound damp.
