Let's spread some musical misinformation

The best known remedy for blatant tuning and intonation issues is dark rum. Be warned though. This treatment will become prohibitive in larger rooms and may lead to random acts of violence in the third set, and beyond.

Black knobs used in combination with black tuners were the origin of the term "double bass."

In the 70's, The Who introduced the world to the first all black bass... tuners, body, bridge and knobs in a documentary film titled Quadrophenia.

Fodera, sick of having its brand confused with the type of hat known as a fedora, has caved and will now be re-branded as "Fedora".
Every new bass sold by Fedora will come with a free hat known as a trilby.

Finally, you can have your Fedora and wear a trilby, too.

I heard Apple is going to buy Fender, and bring out the iP bass. It'll be twice the price but much shinier.

Gibson is going to buy the Squier name. It will remain the same except with a specially weakened headstock.

Each iP-Bass comes with its own intellectual-property lawyer, hence the added expense.

The iP-Bass automatically uploads to iTunes, upon which Apple instantly acquires the rights. Playing the same tune again will then be treated as copyright violation.

Hence the lawyers mentioned above.

Apparently Iron Maiden were originally going to call themselves The Spinellis, but the band with the van sued them.

They also considered naming themselves after Trooper beer and did a trial run of the name Iron Railing, before finally settling on Iron Maiden.

They were all set on "Trooper" and even though Canadian band "Trooper" took them to court, and lost,
if it weren't for the beer company suing them, they would've been called "Trooper".

Canada did away with the one cent coin (penny) and so there is no longer any money beyond the 5th fret.

"Yeah? Well, that's, like, you know, just your , man."

Some say that if you Polish them beforehand, they sound brighter too.

If you Canadian them beforehand, the sound shimmers like the Northern Lights shimmer visually;
If you Russian them beforehand, they have a Rasp'tinge to them;
If you Norwegian them beforehand, they'll last almost forever, kippers for sure;
If you Swedish them beforehand, you can emulate (Swedish) moose mating calls by fretting a low F and then rapidly running your finger up and down the neck ...

Best to freeze them first in tubs of water, Blue Steel strings are great because they have been frozen once at the factory already, Then put the tub of water and strings directly into the deep fryer from the freezer in the basement, preferably next to the gas furnace. Fireman love this.

Make sure they're properly cooked; you can tell when they float to the surface and are a golden-brown. If they're dark, time to change the bacon-grease in the vat.

I don't want to waste time seeking the proper ingredients; in your experience, what kind of string breading provides the phatest tone? Cornmeal or flour, dry or batter dipped?

For a solid stick-to-your-ribs Northern Tone (ie basically Canada and Scotland), you've gotta coat the strings in rolled oats. That's what the song "Alive In A Northern Town" was really about, string coatings, but the media misrepresented it as "Life In A Northern Town". The song was penned by Oates after he got a Hall pass from the record company to do a solo album. The song didn't make it on to the solo album so it was sold to Dream Academy for educational purposes to further sleep deprivation studies.

It is unwise to play barefoot because of the risk of puncture wounds from debris left by careless bandmates and possible electrocution due to grounding problems. The safest footwear is sandals with white cotton socks.
I've found that black socks and sandals are appropriate for more formal occasions and also are the best for metal. But only when worn with camo shorts.
