Let's spread some musical misinformation

Pay to play has been expanded in scope, and is now profitable to the musicians. Pay to not play allows bands to distribute tickets for a show. People can then buy tickets to not have to hear the band. If enough tickets are sold, the band gets a share of the door, and they are removed from the line up.

There are a few bands I would pay to have the memory of having seen them erased.

When you join a band it is a lifetime commitment by law. Line up changes in bands can only be achieved by original members subcontracting the actual playing so someone else, who may then further subcontract. Sometimes a player subcontracts the original member and the original member has to pay themselves and the other player to be back in the band. This is behind the tendency for bands to reform twenty years later as due to the contractual complexities they find they have to rejoin or face jail. In the case of one reformation of Led Zepplin, Bonham's son found he was legally obliged to play.

Which is , of course, what led to this tragedy...

Sons of The Beatles to form band, will be called ‘The Shoots’

In the olden days, clocks were called Punctuality Metronomes, initially designed solely to correct chronic timing issues. Musos were always so terribly late, in so many ways, and, when they finally did arrive, they couldn't even play in time. Sadly, while some have improved over time, the bulk still suffer some kind of temporal tardiness.

The rule is "The later they are, the more famous they'll be." Despite some drastic measures, and Prof. Cher E. Fect's amazing Mutating Muso Machines, chronic tardiness is still a blight on the industry.

The Punctuality Metronome's current name, 'Clock', came about because disgruntled patrons felt it only apt that they should 'clock' the worst offenders over the head with their Punctuality Metronomes, in a timely manner, ironically, as a form of punishment.

The whole thing got screwed up when they brought in "DayLight Saving Time".

And the pot metal bands are still trying to find their gear.

Only because of the magnetic draw to 7-11 for the requisite bag of Doritos & Snickers bars.

Actually the latest heavy metal people are pursuing is Unobtainium. A compounded hybrid made of Symposium and Sir Isaac Newtodimium. The only issue being it doesn't hang around long. Very mercurial.

Plutonium pickups are still the best to cut through the mix.

Lee Sklar suffered for many years from "bad beard." He was surfing on TB one day and just happened to find the "Improve your beard by playing your bass ungrounded" thread. He hasn't looked back since! Here are "before" and "after" pics. You can see how much his psyche and beard have improved! Play ungrounded today, the ladies will love you again!
