Actually, that's a new side project that AI programmers are working on.

Whatever song you need to play in whatever key, AI checks the memory chip on your bass, then your amp, then goes out to the Interwebz to find the song. AI extracts the bass line and plays it through you bass.

So then you can play any note and the song will still sound "just like the record".

Anyway, you are wrong, if it's jazz then you don't need to play in key, or any key. If you're playing old Delta blues, then it doesn't need to be in a key, in tune, or any recognisable time signature.

Talking of AI, it can apparently reproduce the intelligence of a week old kitten now, so it's drummers (Peart excluded) that are under threat.
