A musician can only play so many notes in their lifetime, which is why solos get slower and more tuneful as they age as they have to eke out their remaining notes.
Each bassist has a given number of notes he can play before being worn out. Once he hits that number he dies.

And that number is 12. This I why I never play Ab; I have played the other 11 notes. Any song that requires an Ab, I simply substitute G#. Fortunately, no one has ever noticed.
