Let's spread some musical misinformation

I heard that if your bass is too cold - just stick it in the microwave for 45-50 seconds and it should be fine after that....

45-50 seconds in the microwave will get you a blue bass, or as it is more commonly called, a “Blues Bass.” It needs to be microwaved longer to reach rare, medium rare and well-done! Pick your liking and start microwaving your bass!

Cold weather gigs. Nothing worse than a freezing cold instrument and warm hands. I heard from a friend of a guy who opened up for a band who opened up for Tool’s opening act that their bassist wraps his hands in ice packs on the way to the show so by the time they get to the outdoor jamfest, temperatures match between skin and string, ensuring a cool performance.
If your bass is cold and you have steel strings, don't play any licks; your tongue will freeze to the strings.

Nobody really wants well done. Rare or medium-rare will give you bloody good tone.

You ain’t lying! Poor Rudy here had to have his bass surgically removed from his tongue while shooting this video outside in Winnipeg back in ‘86. Thankfully, the bass still has some tasty licks and is no worse for wear.

Gene Simmons suffered the same fate in Edmonton.

In Montreal, he tried simply ripping his tongue away.

And then there was the Germany "incident"...
