Let's spread some musical misinformation

Most people know that it isn't Prog Rock unless the drummer has a gong. And many also know that it isn't funk unless there is a cowbell.

But few people know that the Blue Oyster Cult song, Don't Fear the Reaper, was supposed to be BOC's entry into funk. Unfortunately overproduction resulted in a radio friendly hit.
Whatever they say, it's the bassist - and the bassist only - who makes a song a real Punk Rock song.

Reactions: Mr_Moo and PillO
When expertly seasoned and tuned by the right culinary campanologist, a series of four varicolored baked bell peppers, struck once with a pickled herring, will inexplicably sound a chime so weird and wonderful that it will cause any internet trolls in the vicinity to start tap-dancing like inebriated loons, make a bee line for the nearest pizza restaurant and throw all their paper money into the closest oven while repeatedly shouting "THAT RINGS A BELL, MAMA. THAT RINGS A BELL …." Nobody knows why but it does have a certain ring to it, if you ask me.
