Indeed. Known as the Snarl tuner.

Of course, the Snark company (who make so many clip on tuners) started out from the defense industry. The SM-62 Snark missile was an early Intercontinental Missile made by Northrop and carried a nuclear warhead.

Several engineers that worked on the SM-62 were asked by John Lennon to give up their warrior ways. Of course they told him (in no so polite terms) to go away and take the screaming banshee (Yoko Ono) with him. Later, John Denver made the same plea. And as they liked him they said "OK Gilligan, we are out of here". They then formed the Snark company named for their greatest missile.

FYI the WWII German Buzz Bomb was tuned to the key of E giving it the Buzz part of its name ... Some of the early technicians came to work at many music factories after the war. Foks like Wernher von Braun used the buzz bomb missile technology to improve the clip-on tuners before he took a job at NASA. But it took workers at the Acme clip-on tie company to perfect the clip that holds these new type tuners to the headstock......

I thought they were buzz bombs because the action was way too low. Learn something every day. No matter how hard you try not to.

Because of their advanced age, The Damned have passed the baton on to their kids to carry on gigging. Here's one of the promos

Wikipedia entries about how bands came to their name are often wrong (a shock, I know). For example, John Entwhistle, far from being a founding member, was a later replacement designed to avert the constant warring between Townshend and Daltrey (Entwhistle was later portrayed in this role on screen by Derek Smalls).

Pete Townshend and Roger Daltrey were near neighbours in Acton but living in the inbetween house were two Americans, Bud Abbott and Lou Costello. With a drummer already nominated, both were to be auditioned for the last spot in the lineup. As usual, Townshend was keen to hire Abbott but Daltrey had set his mind on Costello and the singer and guitarist argued furiously even over the order of the audition. The decision about who's first on bass was never resolved and Entwhistle was hired as a compromise. Another fight over the band name was settled by Entwhistle, who felt bad about Abbott and Costello not getting an audition. Because Who's First on Bass would cost two shillings and sixpence in Letraset, the gig posters were shortened to The Who.

Since we all know that the lyrics to all songs are indeed true:
The first line of Sing a Song of Sixpence has been found in a song published by Tommy Thumb in his Pretty Song Book of 1744, London.
Sing a Song of Sixpence,
A bag full of Rye,
Four and twenty Naughty Boys,
Baked in a Pye!
Since London was full of naughty boys, and in that century blacksmiths made a pretty penny, pie pans, big enough to accommodate four AND twenty naughty boys were quite expensive, not to mention the microwave convection ovens of the time large enough for this!
Blacksmiths kept forging them though because the aristocrats kept buying. This became so profitable for blacksmiths that the bottom almost completely fell out of the sword, axe, hammer, and pike market and warring was approaching an alarmingly all time low.
Soon enough, London was also experiencing a shortage of naughty boys, as these pies had become considered delicacies and were soon only for the well-to-do.
This sparked wide ranging concern among the elites as conscription of naughty boys was essential to war, not to mention that the famed "seer" Nostradamus predicted that this naughty boy shortage would surely cause a future shortage of bassists (and we all know Bassists are the Naughtiest of naughty boys!) and on top of that, without naughty boy bassists, the impending punk rock craze (and it was indeed coming he prognosticated) would need these naughty boys or it may never come to pass!
Londoners soon started protesting that they wanted their wars and that Punk Rock was supposed to be "very sixes and sevens, wot wot".
They started the Naughty Boys Lives Matter movement and proceeded to pillage smitheries to smithereens.
Distraught, blacksmiths, not having any weapons to defend themselves, because of the calming of the tides of war fell prey to their new overlords.
Naughty boys were were considered a protected species, and the resulting shift in the pie charts called for pies containing four and twenty blackbirds.
Since these pie pans needed not be as large as the naughty boy pans, weapon-smithing returned to it's glory days of producing mass quantities of weapons of destruction, and war was back to what it should be...constant and without reason.
The resulting population explosion of naughty boys, not only filled the world with bassists of all calibers, but also drummers, guitarists, pan floutists, Kazoo-sters, politicians, cops, judges and "holy men". They were everywhere!

A ribbon mic is basically a riboff mic, but with ribs.
Spare a thought for Ribbon Mike in these difficult times. Always been dynamic in spite of venerable age and has been shielded since long before March to protect the Mike from airborne droplets (eww) and the risk of popping off. Selfish vocalists don't care so much, but bassists (and even guitarists) have been part of the "Stand With Mike" movement for a long time now.
