I did some mods to my bass; fitted a pre-amp, a 2-saddle bridge and did a paisley refinish. Now it only works properly after the gigs and rehearsals have ended. I fear I might have made it retroactive.

Lennon and McCartney met at the Liverpool School of Maritime Engineering and would have possibly become the UK's foremost naval engineers if they hadn't gone off the rails (not disinformation; John's homework for the design of SS Great Britain was stolen by their first bass player, Jean-Jacques Burnel).

Their sketch for a fully-working submersible was actually built at Cammell Laird (also not disinformation) but trials were unsuccessful because the handwritten notes specifying "a sea of green" resulted in it being placed in Liverpool's Garden Festival. It's now at Liverpool John Lennon Airport, where it still fails in its intended purpose. I found this out to my cost when I boarded on Christmas Eve. After 26 hours stuck on the tarmac without even a bread roll, something was wrong even by Ryanair standards and I left. No taxis on Christmas Day of course, so I complained to Macca on WhatsApp but he just replied with a pic of him carving his walnut and giving me the thumbs-up.
