Let's spread some musical misinformation

A pecadillo one of the smaller versions of the charango. Note, charango is a gendered noun, so for the ladies it is a charanga.
I thought a pecadillo was a small chocolate, caramel, and walnut confection.

Whereas a charango is more like a doughnut batter pastry.

Interesting cartoon. The violin headstock looks like an elephant with an earring, wearing an army helmet with antennae poking through the top. Interesting also because the Mafioso often carry saws in instrument cases (as they do guns) - guns to do the evil deed and saws to cut up the body after. :D

It was a Wandré designed instrument...

You can't judge anything by Scottish standards. In Scotland, school children start the day with 3 oz of blended scotch and have to work in the coal mines for 3 hours every afternoon. It is barbaric; blended scotch...

Yes, barbra rick, but ...
Please stick to misinformation, such as "blanded Scawch iz nektarr of Gohdz".

Vibrato is only truly vibrato if you shake your entire body while doing it.

I've mentioned this before on TB, perhaps, maybe in this very thread...
I once went to a famous live music venue here in Hong Kong, tiny place, but mega-music *(live!) coming out every night of the week, I was there to see a friend's band, but several other bands were on the roster. There's no stage, audience is on same level as band members; Bar-stools are tall, so people standing can still talk face-to-face with friends seated around the edges or at the bar at the back — for the most part it's standing-room-only, from the bar to the "stage" (barring some smaller booths off to the side).

A bunch of guys come on dressed somewhat Clash-like in military fatigues, berets etc. Remember this place is small, audience PACKED, I'm right up front close enough to one of the guitar-players to know what he had for lunch based on his breath, literally...

They finish setting up, and pause for a few moments saying nothing doing nothing and ...

ENTIRE BAND INSTANTLY GYRATING THEIR ENTIRE BODIES LIKE THEY'VE GOT FIRE-ANTS' NESTS DUMPED ON THEM — THEY ROCK OUT !

No warm up, no easing into it, no band member self-conscious of their wild wriggling —
only confidence ONLY FULL-ON COMMITMENT, CONVICTION; OWNING IT !

When someone's doing this vertical epileptic-like fit two feet -at most- from your face, it's something else man, lemme tellya. I felt self-conscious, I mean, where am I supposed to look? At the rest of the band and ignore the guy WILDLY writhing in my face? He had piercing pale blue eyes...

Wish to hell someone had taken a video, or if there was one I wish I knew where it was posted — the transient nature of HK's expat community means the band's probably no more, many or all members (all-expat) moved on or back to whence they came.

What an impact! One of the most memorable musical experiences ever (*sadly so much so I don't remember the name of the band or anything).
I've seen tenured pro-level musicians that pale in comparison regarding that energy, that VIBE! VIBRATIONS! BRAVADO VIBRATO!
That's what I hope to eventually achieve in my own playing and performance, that conviction. HOLY :poop:!

If anybody knows anything about the band, hit me up, I'd love to talk to them.

I return you to your regularly scheduled ...

Performance Booster: Elvis used fire-ants in his pants...

I think everyone is familiar with the Led Zeppelin IV album cover, the one with the bent over old man toting a bag full of sticks on his back.

This is a shot of the young beauty who actually gathered the sticks. She would have looked good on the album cover too!
