Let's spread some musical misinformation

Doing a little Rock and Roll historical research on Kiss, I have found some interesting quotes from various members of the band about Gene as a person.

Paul Stanley:
"Gene Simmons is the kindest, bravest, warmest, most wonderful human being I've ever known in my life."

Peter Criss:
"Gene Simmons is the kindest, bravest, warmest, most wonderful human being I've ever known in my life."

Tommy Thayer:
"Gene Simmons is the kindest, bravest, warmest, most wonderful human being I've ever known in my life."

Eric Singer:
"Gene Simmons is the kindest, bravest, warmest, most wonderful human being I've ever known in my life."

Vinnie Vincent:
"Gene Simmons is the kindest, bravest, warmest, most wonderful human being I've ever known in my life."

Eric Carr:
"Gene Simmons is the kindest, bravest, warmest, most wonderful human being I've ever known in my life."

Ace Frehley:
"Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha. Gene tried to pull some mind control !&*@ on me, but I never listen to him. What did the other guys tell you?"

Morse code is how drummers communicate with each other. Fills are how they send messages to drummers in the audience during a performance. Peter Criss was famously fired from Kiss after he sent a message during a show complaining of torture and an unequal share of the money. Neil Peart used his fills for puns and dad jokes.

Ever wonder what happened to all of the old wire that was used to transmit Morse code, i.e., telegraph wire? It has been recycled to make guitar strings!

Some of the wire still contained dots and dashes. The dots were extracted and are used to make guitar fret markers. To date, no use has been found for the dashes, and they remain locked in a dash vault in Fort Smith, Arkansas.

You can use an app to get some of the dashes delivered to your home, but still no known use.

This is indeed misinformation as it isn't even Morse code but Moore's code, invented by Gary's grandad as a way of more economically transmitting guitar tab for solos than telegrams.

Danny Thompson and Richard Thompson are twin brothers and were the founding members of the The Thompson Twins, although both left before hits such as Hold Me Now. There was a long legal wrangle with the newer members of the band that led to them keeping the name provided it was changed to The Thomson Twins to allow Danny and Richard to distance themselves from the new pop output.

In another excerpt hastily released, Meghan complained to Oprah that "The Farm perpetuated falsehoods" and their 1990 hit, Gravy Train, was meant to be a snide dig at her Spotify deal. Facing legal action from The Farm, on the basis that the song was called Groovy Train and was a snide dig at vapid British dance culture, Meghan has clarified that she was referring to The Firm. Paul Rodgers and Jimmy Page have denied that their 1985 single, Radioactive, makes any reference to Meghan. The British Tabloid Press are forming camps now because, while no-one gave a toss about Liverpudlian baggy dance bands, The Court of Jimmy Page still holds sway over what used to be called Fleet Street.

Brass Tack Ticks

Prior to being made with brass (well before current plastic models), the TROMBONE was made from the bones of the shy and reclusive Trom.

The rapid rise in popularity of Dixieland Jazz music at the turn of the 20th century, of which the Trombone plays a prominent role, led to extensive hunting and trapping of Troms for their coveted bones. This excessive cull combined with the solitary nature and thus low birthrate of Troms in the wild resulted in the complete extinction of the species Trom.

With no other animal's bones being suitable, instrument-makers thereafter made Trombones from brass.

Trom (or technically trøm) is a variant form of the word troll and all the bridges in Scandinavia were scoured to make trombones. With the rise of trolls on the internet, there is a chance that more traditional construction methods may return.
