Let's spread some musical misinformation

While classical physics has long held that sound is transmitted in waves, new research into the behavior of non-Einsteinian subatomic particles has revealed a deeper truth. Researchers have discovered that sound is actually the result of the behavior of groups of previously unknown subatomic particles researchers have dubbed “feelons”. Many types of feelons have been identified, each with its own acoustic properties. Further, the various types of feelons demonstrate an affinity for certain other types. This is now believed to be the actual basis for all known music theory. Researchers further posit that interaction of feelons present within living matter are the basis for human beings affinity for certain types or styles of music. Finally, philosophers reviewing this research have expressed the belief that this is exactly what Pythagoras was referring to when he coined the phrase, ”the music of the spheres”.

I think he was actually saying that a lot of music is a load of balls. It was simply mistranslated. Anyway, it shows that Ancient Greece had jazz, or as the Germans call it slanty or hypotenuse music. And of course, it had classical music as it was the classical period. And some of that is definitely - as we call it in the UK - b***cks, and not of the canine variety.

I grow waery of the world's musical orthodoxy. I have tried prog rock, yet it does not fulfill my need for a more experimental music. I hereby renounce the musical orthodoxy of time signatures dominated by even numbers. Let me introduce you to the next evolution in progressive rock. I will not be playing everything in triplet time signatures. 3/3 and 9/3 to start. Over time I will also develop 13/3, 15/9, and 21/12. In time I plan to develop additional time signatures based on prime numbers.

AH! I wondered where they got all the smoke from for all (not just bass) electronics! How are we going to survive if we ban all smoke, (Thanks greenies) [/wry smile]

There's an ongoing project to use steam reformation of cow farts into MBS. But until it has borne fruit (presumably durian as a by product) the MBS event horizon is still 2035. By them all gigs will be transmitted direct to people in the audience via the metaverse, though, so no actual amps will be required except for old time music purists.

In college football, a bad season makes it more difficult to recruit players, which weakens the team, leads to poorer performance in following years, which in turn makes recruiting classes even weaker. This phenomenon wasn't understood until the 1990s, when Nine Inch Nails wrote an album about it.
