Let's spread some musical misinformation

Weird Al wrote "Beat It" as "Eat It" first, as a pastiche of the general style of Michael Jackson. Quincy Jones heard a rough mix, and talked Al into letting Michael do his version first, because he thought it was even better than the real thing. Al didn't want to do it at first, but Quincy convinced him that Michael Jackson boasting about being tough and gangsta would be even funnier.

When he heard the last bit, Jackson is reputed to have said "ow!".

a twist on something we learned from the scots, actually. everyone knows the bagpipes are a weapon of war, designed to annoy the enemy into submission.

The sound of bagpipes doesn't make your head explode, just wish that it would. It's why cheddar was invented though, as the first all-natural, organically-sourced earplugs. It was only later when someone was on a very long military campaign, running out of food did anyone try eating it. French attempts to make cheese resulted in Camembert which makes an effective but fairly permanent ear plug which given the number of accordions in France makes perfect sense and explains why there is no good, popular music there as well as why they won't respond to basic English commands unless you shout.

At last, a use for Camembert!

Miss Information — darling of the dead-weight deep — she cannot read, cannot count her band in, cannot play to a click, cannot chew gum and simultaneously breathe; she cannot use cutlery, keep a civil tongue, cannot dance, cannot carry a tune; must wear a bib, and can play only chopsticks in any event, but only on a melodica, and only after consuming at least half-a-bottle of overproof rum beforehand. And, depressingly, she devotes herself entirely to embattled, mega-rich, unfunny comedians. Despite my best efforts, I don't get a look-in.

Everybody knows that Evanescence started out as a Ramones tribute band, and the Ramones as a Beatles tribute band, but many have forgotten that the Beatles met as the rhythm section of a failed Glenn Miller Orchestra tribute band. That project never got off the ground as all the horn players they recruited could only play in the English "colliery brass band" style.
