Lets Talk Fuzz.

Spent some time at GC with a Swollen Pickle, and as a fan of fuzzy bass tone I was liking it quite a bit. Any other pedals I should consider?

Jumbo Tone Benders are good on bass -- they're like a muff but minus a gain stage and with a bit of clean signal bleed.
The DAM Ezekiel is excellent.
I just got a standalone clone of the Acoustic 360 Fuzz from viva Analog, which is very much like a Fuzzrite, but with blend and presence knobs, and it absolutely kills on bass.

i use a swollen pickle, and i also use a 3XFX FATMAN. i have the pickle set up for a heavy gated sound, and the fatman for a dirty boost. a very dirty, ballsy boost.

ive also been a big fan of the biyang tonefancier fz7 fuzz. its a sleeper, and can be had for less than $40.

I have a Wolly Momouth. Sounds good and does the dead battery thing. I have an ancient Schaller with two knobs. No ICs And sounds cool. I save the dead batteries for it.

I am currently layering an Octa-Bass over my clean signal and like the sound. Not as gutteral as truer bass fuzz setup, but it sounds good to me.

I'm a relatively new convert to fuzz (although a long-time lover of overdriven tone). I liked the sound of my Sublime so much that I've gone and acquired yet another fuzz - W&C TFR! First one, then two, then...hmmm...why do I have the feeling that there will be more to come...

There are so many wonderful choices of fuzzness, it's interesting to see what people like and use but no one cares for my choices and i actually like it that way. Bass specific fuzzes are great but don't overlook the wonderfulness of guitar fuzz pedals especially with a blend or loop pedal.

The 3 fuzz pedals on my board are Moody Sounds Hjart Muller LO|Fat Bass O/D, GGG Brass Master (Karter 2K) and EHX Bass Balls fuzz on and some sounds on the Zoom.

Other choices available - Austone Fuzz Nutz TexTone, EHX Big Muff Pi, Ross Distortion, DanElectro Daddy O & French ToastOctave Fuzz, ProCo Rat, ElectroniX Cross Drive and also use the various fuzzes in multi effects : Digitech BP8, Zoom B2, Zoom G1x and the big daddy Roger Linn AdrenaLinn III.

also like the odb-3 when you crank the gain it gets near fuzz.

I like the fuzztone of the EHX Tube Zipper, with the envelope filter off. Actually the tubes are blown in mine so it's only the distortion part that works. It makes quite a nice fuzz tone.
Allso I like to combine my Ibanez FZ7 with the damage control on 100% with my Woolly Mammoth and Small Stone for a thick synthy square wave kind of fuzz.
