LIESSSSS THEY LIED TO ME!!!!

I needed to buy new P-Bass knobs for my newly bought used Fender American Precision (from a friend). I gave up on the financing thing at L&M and decided to get an American Precision Bass for $740 with hard case. (what a steal!)

So I went to buy new knobs and I wasn't sure which one to buy so they told me both P-bass and Telecaster knobs are compatible with one another so I bought a pair of Tele knobs (chrome dome ones...hahahahaha) thinking it'll fit. I open the package and BAM! they don't fit! IDEFEF and no refunds anymore; I opened the package. FUUDKLDFDS so pissed. They lied to me. I went to Allparts and saw they were actually different sizes. P-bass knobs (the hole inside) was a bit bigger than Tele knobs...no wonder. GAHHHH what a tremendous waste of ten bucks

I wasted $65 on a bridge b/c i thought I ordered a top/thru body when in fact i ordered string thru only..my fault. Any way I could have returned it but I just went ahead and used the saddles, which is what really bugged about the bridge on the Squier affinty V.

Send them to me in the mail, and I will mount them on a piece of plywood, paint it black, secure it with fishing line, and throw it in my neighbor's trash.

I will post photos here, and tell everyone who posts on the thread they are wrong, no matter what they say.

Send me a check for $10.00, too. I figure that way, you're out twice as much money; I get compensated for my time, and I can buy my German Shepherd a new chew toy, and maybe still have enough left over for some Tic-Tacs.

Uhm.... the OP started a tantrum thread over $10.

And it's now at 2 pages....

He bought Fender branded knobs from L&M, they are probably $20-30.

OP, are your knobs split shaft or solid shaft? You shouldn't need any more info than that when replacing the knobs, especially with Fender parts. Even with Allparts parts that should be all you need to know.

Top Notch! A Weekend Winner! Three pages in over a less-than-major bass dilemma (no diss to the OP). These are the threads that make my Sundays so much more fun, thanks y'all!
So, whaddaya reckon~ can we stretch it up to ten pages+?
Gratuitous use of knob polish comments is totally acceptable....

LOL let me just say I only expected a few comments on this. I never expected my first world bass problem to explode like this. And they're solid pots as all American p basses should be.

Like I said. I was told BY the employees up front and the bass department that any telecaster knob will fit an American p bass. I especially said American because I know some Mexican and American parts are not interchangeable. They told me "yes it'll fit ANY p bass or telecaster"

It's a joke, right?

Or is life so boring that when a couple knobs don't fit, your world is shaken to the point of having rant about it?

Fascinating.

Its not about the knobs. Its about how I was given false information by people who are supposed to know what the hell they're doing and bought faulty and non-fitting parts for my bass. I trust long and mcquade not to screw me over. They never have but this was a first for me.
