Light on VU meter has gone

The bulb is just soldered behind the VU meter so all you will have to do is desolder the current bulb and solder in the new one.

If you aren't comfortable though, getting a tech to do it will cost next to nothing

EDIT: Just a heads up, what with NAMM coming up, they may be a little slow replying to emails but they are normally pretty good at getting back to people :)

Ashdown have sent a replacement bulb out to for free, so should receive it early next week.

Had a quote with a tech to replace, apparently it's quite tricky but he's done one before and will clean to pots and clean the pre-amp etc for £46.

Does that price sound about right?

Thanks

Why don't you buy an inexpensive soldering iron and a can of pot cleaner/lubricant, and do it yourself? If you post a photo of the lamp, people here would advise you on the best technique to perform the repair.

You do not have to take your amp to a tech to have the bulb behind your vu meter changed. unscrew the screws from the top of the amp and slide the amp out and you will see that right behind the vu meter you will see the blown bulb/fuse, just take it out and place the new one in.

Out of almost 16 years of owning and playing out of Ashdown amps I've only had to replace one vu meter bulb.

Ashdown endorser.
