Hi All...

I’ve been out of the scene for a while now but actively playing...the few times I have played with my “MINI RIG OF DOOM” at band levels, it has caused my 7 pound amp to vibrate around on top of my cabinets

Well, yesterday I joined a blues band and our first gig is scheduled mid October...I’m wondering what you might recommend I do to alleviate this problem other than buying a new amp

Thanks in advance

cheap and easy is a bungee cord over the amp to the side handles of the cab. Or a ratchet strap around the whole works.
I have a tuner pedal that I set on the amp head and snake the cables through the top-mounted handle on the cab. It's worked well for me. I worry more about coming to the end of the cable than vibration- but still secures it all the same.

Off topic, but is that a 12” TecAmp cab?

Yes it is- a nice little cab for the lighter gigs. I use a Tecamp S212 (or sometimes two) with the Tecamp Puma 900
for bigger/heavier gigs. I have had great luck with all their cabs (and amp).

Don't do the towel thing. While it can work to quell the vibration, it can limit cooling of your amp. And no one wants an amp over heating.

So either anti skid rubber pad, add rubber feet to the amp, or bungee cord it down.

Not an issue with amps that are fan cooled and do not have vents on the bottom surface. (for example, Subway, Shuttle, Streamliner, ShuttleMax, NeoPak)

Nice! I myself have a TecAmp M210. Great stand alone cab that I’ve used on everything from small bars, to large theater gigs. I always look for these cabs, they are rare, seems the 212s are a little more common.

Does the amp only work when placed atop a cab during 'action'? ;)
