Congrats! Looking forwards to report/pictures of your new mini-rig of doom! Very reasonable pricing too.

If it comes to it, there are several brands of luggage carts that get good reviews here too. The cart might not heave the equipment on the stage but could make the trip from the parking lot to the stage much easier on your leg.

Now that I have ordered the GB 6.0 and the GK Neo, is it necessary to know what kind of Speakons to use? I was told there are different types. Do you think Speakons improve the sound? Can I get inexpensive ones or is it better to buy more expensive ones? I know you can buy adapters as well. Thanks for any info on this topic.

I think just about any Speakon will work. Some folks just buy the ends and make their own from heavy gauge wire, they apparently do not need to be soldered.

I'm typing from complete osmosis here, never had one of those cables myself.

I am the type of guy who does not mind paying more for quality, but I have to say I have a couple inexpensive lighter gauge ones and a pricey heavy gauge one and I hear no difference. The heavy one is clumsier to handle, not bending as well and not clicking into place as easily. Adapters defeat the locking aspect of the connection that prevents accidental yank outs. Speakons are the way to go. They are somewhat difficult to find in bass-appropriate lengths at mainstream retailers for reasons unbeknownst to me. Great rig choice, congrats!

I regularly use my shuttle 6.0 head away from its mated 12 with my other cabs at various locations (an swr 110, carvin 115, etc.) and have exclusively used a speakon adapter with a really nice heavy gauge 1/4 in. speaker cable. I came from rigs without speakons, so I ended up using my nice 1/4 in. speaker cables with the adapter. No problems, no intermittent signal, no loss in quality to my ears compared to hardwired speakon going into the G-B combo. Cheers for your good head choice!

Agreed with this statement. I've stuck with my adapters since my rig is exclusively used in rehearsal, church, and backline applications. If I used it in a front monitor situation or if dweebs were walking behind my rig, I'd personally spring for a real speakon cable. If you (1) have a really nice 1/4 inch cable and (2) don't do front monitoring/deal with these dweebs I speak of, an adapter may be a worthwhile consideration.

As for the GK MB112, it is a killer little combo,, I have been half tempted to use it on a small gig,,, its that good.
With PA support there's no question this little GK MB112 would be just fine.

Sorry about the mixup. There is a newer YET SMALLER GK due out this month. They shortened the height and width and made it deeper. Basic same concept. Thanks for catching that:)

FWIW, I got some Speakon's from MonoPrice and they work fine.

I buy ALL my audio/video cables and flat panel wall mounts and everything else A/V related, and also music cable's from MonoPrice and have never had any problems.

Killer prices and great CS,,, Love Monoprice !!!!!
