OMG my dreams are coming true. Basically a mexican version of the 60th Anniversary P Bass, with the tele headstock and slab body however. Comes in Sunburst and Butterscotch Blonde. I hope there's a way for me to get this in Oz

I think this is a musicians friend exclusive bass. Sadly for those of us outside the US it is not available. If someone knows differently, chime in!

Doesn't the Mike Dirbt have a forearm contour though? That bit of comfort would be worth extra money for me

Yes, the Dirnt has the forearm contour which is a huge plus.

I haven't looked under the pickguard but will. The description says Body Wood: Slab What ever that is

My Fender MDP didnt have any holes or anything under the pg.
This has the same forearm contour as the MDP.

Looks like alder to me, as I'm not in the US, I can't even view the spec page. That's not very nice. :-(

I hear ya. As far as I know Nash is the cheapest route for this (other than the Dirnt).

I hear that Fender are going to announce next week a new line up of affordable USA made instruments. They were originally to be announced at NAMM 2019 but the announcement has been stepped up.

I don't know anything other than that, but perhaps a RW Tele bass might be included. Don't read anything in to that.

I really like the looks of this bass. How's the neck? On some of the new fenders the necks are far too thin for me. I still have the '74 Tele Bass I played when I was young. That baseball bat is too thick for me today but I never liked the really thin jazz bass style and would hate to eat shipping charges on this if it proved to be too delicate.

The colour looks much nicer than the '06 '51 P RI with that weird mustard colour and it also has a 4 saddle standard bent-plate bridge
