How does this unit compare to the Tech 21 Fly Rig? I've had the fly rig before and it's great but it seems like this can house more tones. I'm just curious which one is functionally easier to control for rehearsals/live settings.

Absolutely love this unit. All I need for rehearsals and the here and there gig. The editor works amazing and opens up even more tonal options. Plastic casing but very sturdy and I have no plans to stomp the hell out of this thing or throw it around.
My only con is I wish I could control the usb audio with my phone as so far I can only do it by playing with the trim level in the global settings.

I've got $80 in Guitar Center Rewards Bucks and was thinking of getting this to go along with my Tech 21 Bass Fly Rig v2.
I’ve had both V1 and V2 fly rigs and honestly, this can get it done AND some. The BDDI model in here is pretty close. My current preset is no amp, just the BDDI.
I practice this way regularly. I use the usb as an input from my pc and the pc’s volume definitely works as intended. I blend the level of my bass with the pc volume to reach the mix I want, then use the headphone volume to bring the mix up to where I want it in my ears.

My phone's volume controls control the music input volume, only issue I've encountered is it will only work for about 90 seconds then stops. I assume it's because I'm using a janky Pixel phone and the audio I was using was from a private YouTube video. I haven't sat tried any other audio apps.
On my iphone the volume is maxed out and can't be adjusted. The Trim level adjustment in the app needs to be improved because even at the lowest setting as others have mentioned here, you can't hear yourself play.
Any progress on this? This is my only con for the device so far and probably the only reason I'm keeping my Spark MINI.
Adjusting the master volume (which is a bit annoying) gets this pretty close. I've practiced with it in on trips and love the portability.
The update with the app to configure the presets makes this thing a no brainer for the price IMO.
Note: I only use this for practice, my main pedal board runs an HX Stomp. I assume you COULD use this as a gigging pedal with the preset updates though, there are some good sounds in here.

Do you need to use the Radial DI when you use the Pod Express Bass? Doesn't the Pod Express Bass also serve as a DI, outputting a Line level signal...?

No, you would need a second battery as a backup.
Here's a sample of the POD Express in action at a rehearsal yesterday.
Signal is: Fender 60's classic P Bass w/ D'Addario Chromes> BDDI Emulation on the POD Express. All "knobs" mostly at noon > Radial Stagebug > Mixer. Running the POD off batteries. Other than my playing, I'm happy with how it performs and sounds.

I love this pedal but quickly upgraded to an HX Stomp.
Well, tonight, I pulled it back out to pack for some travel next weekend, and I just spent the last 3 hours jamming away on it. I forgot how fun this thing is!
I had a crazy idea about mounting it to my belt or strap and being able to walk around the house playing it with my headphones on. I need a shorter guitar cable to make this work correctly, but I will try it out!
