Line 6 Bass Pod Express

I had a crazy idea about mounting it to my belt or strap and being able to walk around the house playing it with my headphones on. I need a shorter guitar cable to make this work correctly, but I will try it out!

This is what I do with my Mooer Prime P1. I stuck a short strip of Velcro on the front? top? - not sure what standard orientation is for it - and strap that to my bass strap using Velcro cable ties. Then I run a 1’ patch cable from my bass to the unit and I’m free to roam.

I just bought one of these it's arriving on Friday. I have a Helix Floor for my guitar so I've used the bass models, they sound good. So happy they put this all in a small inexpensive pedal cuz it's more of a just for fun thing for me when jamming. I really wanted those models without having to tap into my guitar rig, especially the M9 carbine, but didn't want to throw down on an entire hx stomp cuz it's overkill for me.

So if you tweak sounds and save us user presets, ( lets say you fill all 21 user presets ) where is the display that tells you which preset you have on.

I dont see a way to name them

Presets are saved by a series of colours and where the dial is.

Ok thanks. Not good enough really. A color doesn't tell me whether i have chorus / delay / EQ, or Phaser / delay / Compression. Imagine being the sort of player that uses loads of presets. You aren't going to remember which color is which preset.

It looks like a decent pedal, but the lack of info on what user preset is currently being used would stop me buying

Yeah bud, i guess thats the case. I watched a couple of yt vids and dug the sounds. The vids didnt address anything to do with my question.

I assume they wanted to build a pedal that didnt take up much real estate,
and adding an led display with owner named preset , bank number etc etc, would just make the pedal that much larger.

You can name them in the app. After that, though, you need to remember what is where.

That app has a lot of tweakability i noticed. But with 10+ user tweaked presets, someone like me would never remember which color was which patch.

Maybe it would have to be written in a book , but a bit awkward on a gig.

Also i didnt see a way to distinguish bank number and how to bank up or down either. Probably better stick with my Boss MD500 but the synths suck

I don't use reverb very often, or delay for that matter, so it hasn't really been an issue for me. I use this mostly as a solo practice tool and if I really needed some reverb I have other ways to get it into the signal chain. I'm still really impressed with this unit and what it brings to the table for my uses. I just googled it for this reply and it looks like line 6 has a -$50 promo going now because everyone has it on sale at $130. That's cheaper than most reverb pedals.

My guess is that the delay piggybacks off the looper somehow and that’s why it’s included as an effect.

I borrowed one of these from a friend for a few weeks, and while I ultimately decided it wasn’t for me, it did inspire me to start assembling mini boards of four pedals with one each of the “food groups” from the Pod Express - compressor, dynamic effect, dirt, modulation. Working on my third one. Incredibly fun!

So... a year after introducing the Pod Express Bass, Line 6 instituted a $50/28% price reduction for a month. Any rumors about an updated model coming, or another model in this line?
