So... I recreated a patch built for my stomp XL and got unexpected behavior...
The patch uses a crossover split and puts a mild TeeMah on the bottom. The top get's an octaver set for -1 plus modulation. Seems like the Teemah is only getting the lows but Path A seems to be getting full range. On my StompXL, the top would see from the crossover split up.
Is there a setting somewhere ?

Im going to buy one hx effects soon.
I use a gk RB400 head.
Question: can i plug my head using both loops (gk & effects) to use the ir capabilities of the hx?
Using the di built in on the RB, theres the full sound of the head and effects and Ir through it (post eq switch on)?

Will it go to my cab from the speaker outputs of my gk head with the IR sound?
Or i should make a paralell path on hx effects without ir at the end to my bass head?
Do you know what i mean? I wanna use the ir (and my gk 400rb) to go to FOH and also use my head+cab on stage like always...
Not that I'm aware of. I have verified that the the two paths are truly above and below the crossover frequency.
Hey guys, I need your advise pronto! I've got the possibility of buying an HX Effects for 320€ used, BUT, there's an issue with switch # 6, it doesn't respond anymore. Myself not being any good with electronics I can't really say if it would be a quick fix or something to worry about. Because of the faulty switch the price seems steep, but there's not a lot of options in these parts in the secondhand market, so I'm trying to figure if I should go for it or not. What say you??
Too high, especially if you're not good with electronics to troubleshoot and fix it yourself. Desoldering a 3pdt is no small task (at least I swore I saw a teardown they're PCB mounted, but I can't find it at the moment).
And even if you convince yourself now you don't need that footswitch, I'd imagine eventually you'll wish you had it; I know I would.

In the FX you choose where in the path you put your I.O., so theres no problem to put it before your IR and send it back to your head.
What is cool with the FX is that you can do almost everything you want!

No need for parallel paths.
Use a "Send" block to route your signal to one of the FX Send outputs, and run that to your amp. Set the Send block "Dry through" to 100% and add your IR block after the send block.
Now you can run the main output of your HX Effects to the mixer, and your amp will not get any IR filtering.
Popping in because I finally updated to the most recent firmware and the Retro Reel is A W E S O M E. Give it a try if you haven't already.
I used the obsidian with a cab ir and a eq block after the amp to really bring everything to life. Also compression to start. You can use it as a standalone mini modeler I used it like that for awhile if you plan to gig with that remember to use a di on the out of the hx. sans amp will work just as good depends what you play and your style. You don’t need a ir also if you don’t want.

I didnt mess too much with my unit but it seems obsidian has a much more tonal possibilities than the zeroamp..at least of what i heard tonight.
Definetly would search for a good ir.
My config is bass->HxFx->Crown power amp->F112 cab.
I have tested some blocks as preamp: obsidian, zeroamp, Teemah, Reel Tape emulation... Finally, I use only Parametric EQ to solve bad acoustic venues, and I have lots of headroom and my bass sound as good as it is by itself.
