Live from Daryl's House

Gotta say. I've seen some great stuff coming out of this show. It's a great premise. Daryl Hall, yes the same from Hall and Oats, is an amazing talent. I never realized it, since I'm not a huge fan of Hall and Oats. Recently he did a recording session with Cee Lo Green and it was amazing. I guess some of the guys from Yonder Mountain String band are currently working with him. So let's post some of your favorites from this show here.

Here's one of my favorites with Cee Lo Green

Ok this one is damn good too.

Hall & Oates are blue-eyed Soul Philly boyz.
If you're only familar with their '80s MTV Pop fare...OK.
"She's Gone" is great (even the cover version by Tavares cooks).
The very tune I ever heard by them was "Sara Smile"...dug it immediately.

Hall & Oates wrote "Every Time You Go Away", and their version (on the Voices album) blows away Paul Young's because of Daryl's voice (and their arrangement is much more soulful). I've always thought he was one of the best out there.

I thought I was the only one that dug Live from Daryl's House.

I am about the furthest thing from a Train fan but the version of "Pappa was a Rolling Stone" they do with Darryl and company is an all time favorite.

I'm a huge Toots fan so I loved that one, but I really think the Cee-Lo episode was the best one yet. The versions of "Crazy" and "I Can't Go For That" are awesome. And that last one really lets you hear the bassist's killer tone.

Not a C-Low fan at all so, I'll happily miss that show. But overall the show is awesome.
Granted the shows are only a 1/2hr so they don't bother showing the hours spent
rehearsing up the songs. To a non-musician, it's as though some famous singer
just shows up at Daryl's house, they plug in and everyone flawlessly just knows each others songs.
I also think they are playing to a pre-recorded track some of the time.
Bottom line is, it's the best "music" show on broadcast TV

Open your mind, bruh! Open your mind. If you watch the entire episode, they explain how they film the show. It's also a great collaboration. There are plenty of folks I'm either not familair with or don't really care for but to see them work in a different forum is amazing. It shows true artistry. He sings Hall & Oates tunes too.

Hey, my mind is totally open and I love any kind of music as long as it's played well.
As for Cee-lo, there is just something about him that rubs me the wrong way, can't put my
finger on it, be it his pretentousness or inflated ego? I don't know but why force myself to like
him when there are 1000's of other great singers to admire.
Trust me, he'll still make this month's rent with out me buying his songs.
