Look what I found hidden in storage at work.

Finally made my way to some of the more interesting “paperweights”.

What’s this “paper” stuff you guys are talking about, and why does it need weighing down? :roflmao:
It’s the stuff they used to make telephone books from.

For you younger ones, yes this is how we found phone numbers “back in the day”.
Now get off my yard while I shake my fists at the sky, so I listen to my transistor radio in peace.🤪

huh; i woulda thought the old digital stuff would indeed be paperweights, as opposed to that rack of klark EQs in your next pic that people might still want for their throwback analog home studios or whatever
If our venue had a studio or the space to make one I could make use of most the unused gear.
Unfortunately storage space has been at its maximum capacity for several years. It is what it is, I deal with it.
There is a like new Midas Verona sitting in a roadcase that hasn’t been opened in 3 seasons.
I’m not even going to say what happened to the PM3500.🥲

My best friends when in the hot seat. We had a good relationship, through the good times and the bad.
The hot seat was the last place I wanted these! I used banks of these for monitors on a series of summer festivals and learned the hard way that KT gear didn’t really like the heat.

The KT delays, in particular, needed clip-on fans all over the rack or our delay towers would start making…. interesting…. sounds.

Solid equipment otherwise but keep it out of the hot seat, for sure!

Imagine the quantity of gear that are being sent to garbage after the digital conversion worldwide

But who misses the inserts cables for everything ?

Crunch , crunch , crunch .....

Oh no, those are the paperweights, here are a few of the boat anchors.View attachment 7278331

Nice made in Japan stuff by JBL back in its time but way too underpowered for live theater/music today.
I think the biggest one in that series was 400 a channel weighed about 65 pounds, about the same as many amps in that era.
