It’s the stuff they used to make telephone books from. What’s this “paper” stuff you guys are talking about, and why does it need weighing down?![]()
I'm a sucker for this kind of stuff...I have a few of the anchors you have in those racks (and some you don't). I love DBX-160a's...Pretty sure I own 4. Also have two Urei rackmount EQ's...Finally made my way to some of the more interesting “paperweights”.

huh; i woulda thought the old digital stuff would indeed be paperweights, as opposed to that rack of klark EQs in your next pic that people might still want for their throwback analog home studios or whateverFinally made my way to some of the more interesting “paperweights”.

dang, yeah 75w@8Ω each, those are boat anchors. i wonder if they'd be any good for studio monitor or home theater power amps?Oh no, those are the paperweights, here are a few of the boat anchors.
Flashbacks to my monitor mixing days!Don’t miss dragging these around either.

If our venue had a studio or the space to make one I could make use of most the unused gear.huh; i woulda thought the old digital stuff would indeed be paperweights, as opposed to that rack of klark EQs in your next pic that people might still want for their throwback analog home studios or whatever
My best friends when in the hot seat. We had a good relationship, through the good times and the bad.Flashbacks to my monitor mixing days!
The hot seat was the last place I wanted these! I used banks of these for monitors on a series of summer festivals and learned the hard way that KT gear didn’t really like the heat.My best friends when in the hot seat. We had a good relationship, through the good times and the bad.
Where those from a monitor mix system?Don’t miss dragging these around either.

I think the biggest one in that series was 400 a channel weighed about 65 pounds, about the same as many amps in that era.Oh no, those are the paperweights, here are a few of the boat anchors.View attachment 7278331

Nice made in Japan stuff by JBL back in its time but way too underpowered for live theater/music today.
Those look like Showco gray carpet racks. Finally made my way to some of the more interesting “paperweights”.

Yep. There was also a rack that had comps, gates, and a couple verbs that would usually be used with the EQs.Where those from a monitor mix system?
They were local made clones, just as heavy but less attention to detail. Those look like Showco gray carpet racks.
What's funny is today people complain about their 50 pound amp rig being too heavy.
