Looking for 200 watts (max) alltube amp

The V-4B was the bass version. The V4 was the guitar version with different EQ points and reverb.

Not 'zactly... the EQ points are the same, but the V4 has a 3-position "sensitivity" switch for each input (ooh, that sounds dirty!). It also has an Ultra Hi "cut" position, and does NOT have the Ultra Lo boost. If you're after growl, either will do it. Trust me - I've had the same '71 V4B since 1979.
With regard to Sound City amps - while they used high quality components, they have reliability issues. A Hiwatt makes a great bass amp. but they are rapidly going upward in price, and they have more of a "bark" than a "growl". The old Traynor Custom special is cool, but a little harder to find in the US than a V4/B.

I left off the sensitivity controls (IIRC simply a 0, -6 and -9 dB control), but the rest I consider EQ and the EQ settings for the midrange are different (but close) on the two amps. I've gigged and worked on both. I have a V-4B, but wouldn't hesitate to gig the V-4.

Could you explain this for me, please.

They are completely different amps. Different circuits, different performance. What type of details are you looking for? There are most likely a few comparisons already written on this board if you search. I have not spent any considerable time playing the V-4BH, so I don't feel the most qualified to talk about the differences outside of the technical details.

Understandable, but look at what Anderbass did with his Mesa 400+ , he added cathode ground switches to each of the pairs of tubes so that the amp could run at 50/100/150/200/250/300 watts :)

I see your point. But I don't want to buy an expensive 300w-400w amp and then pay even more to make it more quiet anyway.

So I am hoping to find a lower priced 100w-200w amp.

Mainly I am looking for sound difference of the V4B vs V4BH

I dunno the tech. differences. Heck I've never even played an orig. V4. I DID play a V4B w/ the red & blue logo???? & NOW I own a V4BH & I LOVE this amp!!! I own an SVT2(prior to the SVT2PRO & diffferent) which I LOVE also. To me-thru my Bergantino NV610 cab- they both seem to sound pretty similar. The SVT Does sound a bit thicker & -of course goes louder, but the V4BH-IMO- is a GREAT sounding amp-paired with the right cab! I paired it with a mates Peavey 1x15" once & it sounded harsh & brittle :bawl:, but thru MY Aguilar GS115(1x15") it sounds superb. Lush, warm round..........;) like a big ol' butt! :p When I added my old EV TL115(another 1x15"-so I had two 1 x 15" cabs running-4 ohm total) to my Aggie GS115- sounded even better! BTW it's either 4 or 8 ohms & 100w-4 x 6L6GC power tubes!
it's also Lighter than the older V4's & not as wide(long)- virtually it's the same dimensions(HxWxD) as a SVT-CL
From what I've heard- the old V4's sound great, & many consider the V4BH to be nowhere near as nice....all I can say to this is.The V4 must be ABSOLUTELY STUNNING as the V4BH-IMHO- is a great amp. & Easily loud enough to compete with ANY drummer/kit I've played with-easily! It breaks up nicely too. Either using the gain-at lower volumes, or cranking the master-for power tube onslaught!!

What are the prices on the Weber amps. I could not find anything on their website.
I don't recall the exact prices, but from what I've heard from people who've actually bought Mywatts, it's not as much as one could expect from a hand built boutique amp. They're quite affordable even.

But, the best thing you could do is probably just to send an e-mail to Weber, to verify or falsify what I've just said.
