Looking for a new bass amp...

Basically I am about to join a band as the bassist and I currently only have a fender rumble 15.

I can manage about 300 dollars and would like to be heard above drums and guitar. Also, we'd be playing 70's punk/post-punk type stuff so i wont be competing with super loud metal guitars as far as volume goes.

Oh and I am currently playing an SX P-bass copy (dunno if that changes anything)

Anything used in that price range that will get me what I want?

if you looking for a 70s sound and a cheap, loud bass amp you should consider buying the Acoustic B200 combo amp the B200 is normally 349 dollars, 6 band eq, passive/active inputs and 200 watts if you are buying it very soon on musiciansfriend they have a factory restock or the b200 for 200 hundred bucks very cheap for the sound it makes and puts out VERY LOUD john paul jones used it from 1969 until 1976. Jaco pastorius also used it the acoustic brand was huge in the 70s and was like the amp of the 70s very nice quality

I got a Peavey 210TX combo with a 210TXF extension cab for $300 off my local Craigslist. With the extension cab hooked up, the amp pushes 300 watts. That is more than I've needed to keep up with my band. I'm actually about to sell it to fund a new amp that I stupidly played and fell in love with. But, a good, plenty powerful amp can be had for $300. Good luck on the search!

Peavey gear, no matter how old, will be still be driving parents nuts long after the new fake GC Acoustic gear has overflowed all of the landfills.:hiding:

FYI, while i think that the new Acoustics are nice amps for the money, NONE of the new ones bear ANY resemblance circuit-wise, or tone-wise to the amps the JPJ or Jaco used.
the old ones were made in USA and the new ones are made off-shore.
