Looking for a new, "high end" bass

Hello!

I want to buy a new bass to replace my cheap yamaha bass, but I have no idea which bass to get. I will be playing a lot of metal, but much more than that too. I want a black, neck through bass with a humbucker (or two), but Im open to other things too. My budget is around $1500, but I obviously dont have to spend it all.

Please recommend me some good basses :)

SPLIT BRICK NECK Strong lows and highs, open mids. Like a vintage P bass pickup but with more beef, yet retains clarity. 43 gauge wire, ceramic magnet, 8.5K ohms.
THICK BRICK BRIDGE Warm and thick with strong mids. Output and punch like an active, but more organic sounding. 42 gauge wire, ceramic magnet, 7K ohms.

Korina body.
The Blackwood Tek fingerboard is a very nice touch

Passive, pure and potent!

If he's playing modern metal, should he go 5 string and look at a Mercalli 5?

Is there any reason it has to be neck through?

I'd be very tempted by a used Spector Euro or Warwick Streamer (the Streamer would just tip it for me I think, as I love the Warwick growl, but you can't go wrong with either).

The reason I ask about NT is because it might be easier to find a Warwick Streamer Jazzman within your budget, they are bolt on but REALLY great basses. Satin neck as well, which a lot of people prefer.

New, neck-thru, with humbuckers...

I literally can't think of a single high quality bass under $1500 new with these features. This means no Warwick, Spector, Rickenbacker, Musicman, Dingwall, G&L, Gibson Thunderbird....

You could any of those used for under or around $1500, but not new. Maybe check out LTD, or Ibanez BTB line.

Fantastic, than I would suggest a Spector Euro 4XL. It has a PJ setup though, not humbuckers. A second suggestion would be a German Warwick double buck, but they aren't neck thru, third suggestion...maybe a Rickenbacker 4003S but it doesn't have humbuckers.

See what I mean, tons of cool basses are out there but every combination I can think of lacks one of the requirements you listed.
