Looking for a new set for my sixer

I went on GCs website and looked at prices. I was thinking about trying flats but the only six set I saw was 106 bucks! WTH why are they that expensive? Also are there affordable flats for sixes what affordable sets of any type for sixes have you found that are actually good?

That's the same set I use currently. Depending on who you ask, you'll be told they're either GHS Precision Flats or LaBellas in bulk packaging. Best I can tell, these are GHS strings with purple silks. Either way, I love the tone and feel and the fact that they'll last years with common sense care.

The only bad thing about Carvin is that they charge $10 to ship one set of strings.

These will run you quite a bit less, as Jason can ship First Class for a few bucks...and with the TB user discount they'll be even cheaper:

I've never tried to tap with flats, but generally you want light gauge, low tension strings for tap. Pretty much the opposite of flats. I couldn't imagine tapping on such high tension strings....not to mention they have the wrong tone for tapping. You know what flats sound like, right?
