Looking for a small bass amp with the following features:

New entry: Ashdown "Studio" series amps, in Jr, 8, 10, 12, and 15. The 100w Studio 12 is on sale introductory street price @$380, and weighs 23 pounds. Granted, it is not a "kickback," but I have always had better luck using a stand instead of kickback.

You won't get useful advice unless you define your budget, weight and size needs in numbers, rather than vague descriptions.

And are you looking for an amp or a combo amp? They're two different things.

Wow, I should have checked recent specs! Hartke really lightened their combo line.

The A100 I used to use for upright in a swing big band weighted 48 lbs and seemed like more because of the awkwardness of carrying it by the top handle.

That's a pretty sweet amp, but the amp really needs the 45 degree-ish tilt.

This stand folds down when not in use so it's very easy to transport. There are others the shape of a guitar stand that will work too.

Gallien Krueger backline 112 looks interesting. Difficult to find a price on it, I'll research those. The bracket is definitely cool, maybe for home use. Could be an option. But I was thinking something to take around easily, mainly.

I am looking for a combo, with a speaker that tilts up around 45 degrees. Well, it's for my dad, who is getting up there in age, so the smaller the better. He wants it to tilt up. He already has a lot of gear and stuff like that, and even a little PA that does lean back, which is a feature he really likes, and wants in a bass amp.

So, it NEEDS the features that it leans back, and is a bass amp. It also needs to be light weight. Then after that, there might be a wide range of possibilities, which would basically be cost, vs quality of sound, and we can look at that, and see reviews, and make a decision based on those factors. Basically, as cheap and nice sounding as possible. Of course that's vague, and it is what it is, you get what you pay for.

So, that's ok, I'll look through all the tiltback bass amp options that there are, keeping in mind we do want it on the cheaper end on the scale. All of the suggestions I see here which fit the necessary requirements.
