Looking for a solid 5-String Bass for $500

Hey guys!

New to the forums, though I have come across this site a few times while doing some Google searches.
Anyway, my dilemma is pretty straightforward.
I recently joined a band, and I need a good 5-string bass for around $500. I'm willing to go a bit over, but not a whole lot.

As far as background and what I'm looking for:
- My current main is a 4-string Schecter Stiletto Studio. It's what I learned on when I started playing 6 years ago, and I still love it.
- For the time being, I picked up an ESP LTD B-105. Not a huge fan of it. Probably because I can't get the B-string to come through when I hit an open note, only when holding down frets. Tried changing action and whatnot to fix the issue, but no luck. Anyway, I digress...
- I played an Ibanez SR255 in the store the other day, and I actually liked the neck a lot, so I started looking at the SR505. However, I've read enough mixed comments that I think I'll stay away from it.
- The band and I play mostly originals, but do some covers such as Killswitch Engage, System of a Down, etc. Nothing too complicated, but I like to add lots of little fills. I alternate playing with fingers and picks.
- Here's me playing because why not;

Any advice? Please and thank you. :)

Ah yes, sorry, duhhh.
I'm in Connecticut, and I'm fine with used. Saw a beautiful Lakland for sale on here yesterday. It was a bit expensive but I would've sprung for it if I had a chance to play it and I liked it.
So yeah, open to used as well. Gonna stay away from LTD I think, but keep them coming!

From what I could tell on craigslist anyway, CT is a dead zone as far as music goes. Haven't had much luck there. Gonna keep an eye out for deals on here though.
And I want to get something other than a Schecter just so I have variety, you know? I like it, but I guess I'm actively looking for another brand just to switch things up.
Also, played the Yamaha you mentioned at my local GC. Not into it :/

So many to choose from... got a squier precision v on the cheap not too long ago... love it... between 2 to 300 clams anywhere online... light... and plays great! Put ghs pressure wounds and it puts out a good thump... or maybe steels for the music your playing?...

If you wanna save money anyways.

IF you wanna spend the bucks... any of the above mentioned is cool... mind you though... id like an ibanez sr505...

Good luck with your quest!

The Schecter Raiden Special 5 is actually a really good bass. I had one for a bit. The only reason I traded it off is that I just don't need a five string. Too bad you didn't get to me a couple of weeks ago! Mine was mint, played less than a dozen times. They're $429 brand new at GC.
