The Fender Jazz Bass Special from the late '80s was one. At least the later versions had a Jazz-style neck, but the earilest ones had a bigger P style neck. Those basses had a P/J pickup combo too. This is what the recent (last year or two) Duff McKagan signature bass is based one. There was also the Active Jazz Bass Special that added an active pre-amp, reversed teh Precision coils, had an extra fret, and a layer of graphite under the fingerboard and headstock.
The California Precision Bass Special had a very nice Precision body with a P/J combo, and a nice J-style neck. This was replaced with the MIM Precison Special. The first MIM ones were pretty similar to the California excpet the fit and finish were not nearly as nice. This later added active electronics (I think they called it the Active P bass Special).
I never saw a Hot Rod P bass, but it was the original American Standard P bass (NOT the 2008 version, but the one that preceeded calling them American Series) with an added J PUP. I don't know if it had a J neck, but my recollection of the literature didn't mention that it was a J neck.
The Lakland Duck Dunn bass (both US and Skyline) is a P body with a blocks 'n' binding Jazz neck. VERY FINE basses, if you like skinny necks.
And, throughout the late '60s and into the early '80s Fender Precisions could be special ordered wtih a narrow (1.5") neck. It wasn't just a Jazz bass neck, because they never had blocks and binding, nor the bullet truss rod. The contours were probably different, but you could get what Fender called the "A" neck which was 1.5" wide at the nut. Standard was the "B" neck (1.625"), and you could also order the original "C" neck (1.75"). Note that the "C" designation refers ONLY to the nut width, and it's not the same as the unoffical "C" term to describe the shape of the back of the neck.
Me, I'm the minority. I want a Jazz bass with a P bass neck. Considering how common it was in the '70s to see Precisions with Jazz necks, where'd all the Jazz bodies and P necks get to?
