Brutal. Believe it or not, he made incredible trio music for a few years before it turned to total schlock. I went back to these earlier trios recently and tried the later work, thinking "how bad can it be". The answer was really horrifically bad!
This is a fantastic trio on the ESP label featuring the great Barre Phillips:
