Hello all, I own a FEnder Squier Deluxe V that I bought cheap off the eBay about a year ago, and just recently decided to convert the ebonol fretboard to a fretless. I took it to a luthier that I knew, and trusted with my other instruments, and he was able to remove the first few frets, but eventually noticed a small crack forming along the side of the fretboard, so we decided to stop, and now I'm looking for a 5 string replacement neck with a rosewood fretboard. The kicker is, I 'm looking for something about $100-$150 at most. Any ideas? I looked into might might, and they have P bass replacement neck, but I'm not sure if that will fit my J bass since their neck is made for P-Basses. Any and all help is much appreciated!

So is your trusted luthier not able to replace the frets he removed? Or drop fill the crack with some CA glue?

You can find a Squier neck in your price range.
If you get one, maybe finish the fret removal,
CA the crack and hopefully have two necks to give you options.

Thanks for the feedback. I've been looking at this Might Might P Bass neck, but not real sure if it'll fit the body of my bass correctly or not.
