Looking for short-scale single coil p-bass type...

I'm in the market for an early 50s Precision-style (single coil) bass with a short scale. I see that Retrovibe used to make these (slab p30), but no longer. Any other leads on such a beast? [My main bass for years was an early 50s style bass like this with a long scale, but I'm favoring short scale these days.]

Have you spoke to David directly ? The 2 - 3 week build time is just a guideline plus speaking direct you'd likely have a choice of colour

I have a Fender Modern Player Short Scale Bass that has P and J pickups. I love it.
I also Have a Schector Banshee Bass with a p 1/4 type pickup. It is Short Scale and very P Bass sounding. I like it a lot also.

For real 50’s p bass body shape, you could get that style body and add a short scale conversion neck from Musikraft.
If you don’t care about exact body shape then seems like a Bronco bass or Vista Musicmaster would do.

Not exactly a short scale P, but a Mustang bass is in the realm

Doesn’t have the exact aesthetic of a 51 style P, but a Musicmaster with a Novak pickup replacement will get you real close to the sound in a short scale.
