I have 2 of the Orange 112s and they kick it. I use them with a GK 800fusion
I went with GR Bass, I like the tone and size better. I also have an AT212 Slim arriving today, I’ll keep my other GR AT212 and the Super Twin will go to the classifieds.
A quality cabinet with 2 speakers is usually different than a 1 speaker design.
No FOH vs having FOH support are very different scenerios.
I commend you on wanting to play a variety of styles, but those differences will influence how much cabinet you'll need to get the job done.
I'd suggest finding a 1 speaker cabinet that you love, and then making the decision to get a duplicate cabinet if the need arises. Weight and size vs volume is always a trade off that only you can determine is necessary.

A single Barefaced Super Compact T has been enough for 95% of my gigs since I got it. I've only had a couple instances where it wasn't enough-- and it wasn't because of the cabinet not being loud enough, it was because my amp is only pushing an 8ohm load instead of 4ohm. Simply not enough headroom at the amp.Hey all
I'm not planning on buying these this second but I want to save and write down which cab to go with for my main rig.
I been looking at a lot of different options and I am truly amazed how many smaller amps there really is.
So far I been really stuck and thinking of going with Barefaced (Super twin so far) or the Orange OBC112 (May also look into the 115) Price isn't the issue since this will be a goal but, it is nice to save up and have the best for a price in mind. I know Bareface also needs to make your cab so that will take time but I do not mind if it means getting quality. Phil Jones I love and if I had the money would get some but I find a lot of people have very mixed and conflicting views on them, I do love the C8 but IDK I am enjoying Bareface the most for smallest amps. I also saw a punk show with my friend and the bassist was using I believe OBC112 and I was amazed how loud he was, two guitarist playing loud overdriven with Marshalls and a loud drummer would a 22 inch kick I would say, and he was cutting through and it sounded good! Of course that place prob had a PA but he was in time and I felt he had some headroom I was in the front and heard it loud and clear!
Budget is open right now, I would like to stay within the 800 to 1500 USD, I mean know bareface is a-lot so I'm open to it, I just do not want someone dropping "get two of this cab" and its 3k in total.
So models I been really eyeing, also this is just cabs, not amp heads that is totally different worry and day right now,
Super Twin (Open to thoughts on other models from Barefaced)
Orange OBC112 (Probably will have to get two, also open to hearing info on OBC115)
I'm looking for info on these if you have experience with, love to hear it!
Some models I'm in the middle but will give a look - C8 Phil Jones, Trace Elliott ELF 1x10, Also looking at Markbass cabs, a lot to choose from so uhh open to hearing about some if you have some nice small cabs!
Also genres played: Blues, Hill-Country Blues, Indie, Shoegaze, almost anything...
I have no idea for future venues and stuff, most places have PAs but there is always that anxiety of no PA... I am bad overthinker forgive me please LOL, I somewhat accepted we'll cross that bridge when I get there.
Even though I do drive, I want to get a rig that basically if I had walk (using a cart of course, one of those fishing carts my dad and I used at the beach lol or for his work) or taking the train, metro etc. I probably will be driving mostly to places but you know it is nice on the back, even though I am 22 I sadly suffer from pelvic, back and other pains so would like to keep them OK for a gig lol.
Goal is to find something, a one size fits all type of rig, I don't mind stacking something like the Orange or hearing what Bareface like big baby may stack better or even if the C4 may stack. Again budget is open but would love if I could keep it in the 800 to 1500 lets say since a Super twin is roughly I believe 1500 USD alone. As always if you know a cheaper alternative similar to my goals please drop them below.

The only criticisms I would give to the Super Compact are this: if you only have one, you will want a stand for it. The cab's dispersion is very good, but not good enough if you are standing quite close to it. At the same time, the cab can really kick some air at your ears, so you don't want it too loud too close. I'm personally going to get a second SC-- the stack will be well tall enough for me, and it will solve any issues of capacity that I have had.
I can say pretty much the same for my Big Baby's. One is amazing and covers almost all of our gigs. When that's all I use, I do put it up on a stand for the reasons you mentioned.
But having the second is so much better.
. When I'm pretty sure but not certain that one will be enough, having the second one adds an extra fullness that not only ensures I can be heard properly, but the second driver adds a "feel" to the bass that sounds soooo good. I prefer to use both if I having doubts about using just one. But even a single one does a surprisingly good job.
I kinda collect 212s ‘cos it’s my preferred cab config these days. I currently have a DG212, a Mesa Subway 212 and a GR Bass AT212 Slim. All three are excellent! But I was thinking of adding a Barefaced Big Twin 3 to give me yet another option, although I haven’t had the chance to try one out yet. Just wondering about the details of why you prefer the GR over the Barefaced? You say tone and size (and I also presume the incredibly low weight). I love my GR cab for the same reasons, but I still think I’d like to try the BT3. Any further details you can throw in would be interesting to read.
By the way, like you I have a Mesa head (TT800 in my case), plus other options, including the GR Pure Amp 800.
EDIT And to the OP, my choice in your position would be a 212 (of course) or maybe two 112s.

I LOVE my Markbass IV Mini. It's 300 watts (500 with extension cab) with a 12" speaker. LOUD and LIGHT.
No downside, as far as I can tell. The 1x12 can keep with with two moderately loud guitars and drums. No sweat.
What styes do you guys mostly play? I feel like with a PA/FOH it doesn't matter too much, Blues can get loud but sometimes it is calm, Shoegaze is a whole another story.
Also do you find the 2x12 really that big? I feel like it doesn't really seem that big especially for the sound it is offering! I am thinking the Big Baby 3 now but honestly they all are amazing looking! Thanks as always for Barefaced info, can't wait to join the cult- I mean club!

Yes since I mention Barefaced I attracted a lot of Barefaced user, but still am happy to see some OBC112 content and advice. I saw a punk bassist using it and I was truly amazed by its power. Everyone on here has very swaying thoughts and say they are a case by case thing, I will for sure try one in a shop and if I see a second hand one and if I have a main rig, I will love to get it as a travel or hang out cab!
