i have a parametric eq rack in my amplitude program which i liked....actually never really looked into pedal-wise...thanks for the tip bud!
Compression might be another factor to consider. Definitely read into using it correctly, they aren't plug-and-play in most cases.

So he has all those effects but they only go to stage amps...just a Demeter to the house? Am I missing something? Where's the green line to the PA from the effected signal?

im a bit weary over compression...i have a compression button on my trace elliot combo amp (which needs to be switched on all the time for the amp produce any sound at all....should this be happening?) which works well sometimes but there are times were i hate it.....

i know right? the actual button that engages the compression on the amp doesnt hold in the port anymore....so when someone messes with the button (after i tell em a billion times not to touch it) theres no sound and im fiddling with the button just to make the amp produce any sound at all...fun right? so what ive done, and has caused me no problems yet, is actually set the compression in, slowly removed the button, then put some black electrical tape over it so no one messes with it plus it blends in nicely with the black background...any ideas what it might be?

yeah i will have to try and experiment with some cabs, lucky i have alot "bass buddies" (gay right? haha) that will probably help a fellow 4 stringer out
Just out of curiosity what rig are you rocking at the moment?
I use a Rickenbacker bass into an Orange TB500. Then I use a (not entirely matched) pair of Markbass 112s. Apparently the Markbass cabs have a bid of an upper mid-bump voiced into them (that's more regurgitating what I've heard on talkbass, rather than my own personal experimentation), and the Orange has something of a built in mid-scoop. I find they pair well together, maybe in part due to that.
i couldn't get that midrange chunk i was looking for until i started using a 100t, micro pog, and steel leather. now its exactly what i hear in my head
those bassman 100t`s look super cool...what is the overdrive channel like? what cab(s) do you use with it? its great you got the sound in your head into your amp its what im exactly trying to achieve
Man id kill for a rick` any day! those markbass cabs must have set you back...ive never seen markbass gear cheap (then again i never go looking for them).
Btw i had a listen to one of your bands songs taxi cab if i remember correctly....man thats such a chilled funky tune,,,that rick sounds super smooth
I got a dbx 31 band graphic rack EQ for less than $150. It really opened up the world in terms of tone shaping. It might be a cheaper investment to help get you there compared to buying a new bass, cab, or amp, etc. I too focus on a nice punchy midrange (but a Mesa cab and GK head helps...) 
For me the answer was. A P bass with the tone fully open strung with stainless steel rotosounds(45-105) into a darkglass B7K with the high and low mids both at at least 2:00 into almost any rig. I've been able to dial in very punchy mid heavy tones that are very present in the mix through my two rigs 1)Ampeg CL and Fliptops sealed 410 2)GK MB fusion and 2 ampeg Svt 12HEs.
I've also done well through a ton of house/studio rigs and even direct into the pa when the need arose.
Only a farty old peavey Tko 115s combo has thwarted me.

I suspect the cab is the issue here. My Ampeg combo uses a single 15 and it also lacks any kind of punchy midrange. FWIW, I've played the same head as you through an Ashdown 8x10 and gotten oodles of midrange punch. The head can probably be dialed in for what you want.

Look at JC's eq pedal. There is mid to bassists....then there is mid to the rest of the world. Which one ya lookin for. Mid to the rest of the world is our high end. lets say 1.5k to 4k.
450hz to 1khz would be our mid. Want some punch and raunch? shave down that 450 to 1k a little bit, but not too much. use a pick, stainless steel strings, your good to go. That trace should sound fine. You should be able to get that irrelevant of your cab. I record most of the time with just the DI out from my traces, post effects.
Sansamp GT2 is also the trick.

I just got a Super Bassman 300, which I think has the same preamp as the 100t. Both channels are awesome. The overdrive channel can get so many sounds it's amazing, from pristine hifi to slight breakup to heavy distorted drones, and then the nice sweepable mid eq on top of that. And everything comes out sounding fat, and it feels like I can punch a hole in a brick wall when I dig in.those bassman 100t`s look super cool...what is the overdrive channel like? what cab(s) do you use with it? its great you got the sound in your head into your amp its what im exactly trying to achieve
I use fEARful cabs (a 15/6/1 and a 12/6/1) with it, and it sounds HUGE. I imagine the 100t would be similar, but it would break up earlier, which would be even better for you.
