looking into having a seperate cab for my distortion sound

im looking at getting a cross over so that i can use a guitar combo, and not have to worry about damaging it, thing is im thinking of still using one even if my dirty amp is a bass amp, to maybe try and stop the sound from being a bit much/muddy.

im considering getting a second 210av cab and using my lm2 for the time being, im thinking if i only send it highs and mids, with distortion the 400/500w should be plenty to cut thru.

what do people think of this would it do the job?

I'm also getting ready to start playing a biamp setup An Eden WT400 through an 4x10 Acoustic cab and a bassman 50 through my current Marshall 1960a 4x12...but i'm thinking about switching to another Acoustic 410 or something other than the Marshall.

But i was told you could just use the tone controls rather than getting an outboard crossover...
