looking into having a seperate cab for my distortion sound

hi guys im a bit cross about losing bottom end when i kick in an overdrive or distortion, i want the savage nasty distorted tone but i want a nice rumbling deep bass tone underneath it.

how do you go about setting up this, i know there gonna be a bit of work but im really intrigued and wanna try it out?

i use a svt pro-6 going thru a 610hlf cab and was thinking of adding a loud 210 for the effects and that?

ive googled and cant find any sort of drawing that show how to do it?

thing is ive tried bout three or four? the one major one ive not tried is the big muff.

ive got a metal muff ehx pedal that i love but its for a guitar so all bass goes but i love how it sounds! would be cool to have that and a thick bass sound to

+1. Big time. Another whole rig is just more gear to schlep - not to mention buy! Do some searches on distortions on this list - there is TONS of info.

Another thought is that you can use a splitter so as to feed clean signal into the loop with the distortion.

I'm pretty sure you're going to want to high pass the signal that goes to the guitar combo. Thankfully it's pretty easy to build that into a pedal, or use a crossover, or dsp, or whatever.

Pretty sure there's a pedal out there that'll give you a clean out and a high passed distortion out, but I can't think of what it's called. Maybe the paralooper?

thing is im not looking at getting a mesa dual rec rig, just a 210 to go ontop of my 610, and hopefully a rackmount amp to go with the pro 6.

ive tried quite a few but after finding videos of people using this system, it sounds cool to have the effected tone aswell as the clean fat bass underneath it

I do this...

I run a 4x10 dirty and 1x15 clean.....my rack houses two amps.....i run two seperate loops and use an a/b/y with a signal booster

the dirty channel gets an OD and Fuzz while the clean gets basically--->bass--->pre-amp--->amp

there is no substitute for the sound i get out of this set up.......i can get as nasty as i want while retaining all my bottom end

the downside is my rack weighs literally a ton!...lol

and my pedal board is bigger than the guitards!

what amps do you run?

I use a 6Pro as well, and bro, you need a bass specific overdrive pedal. Fulltone Bass Drive mosfet, EBS Valve Drive, or whatever, but all this extra rig stuff is a waste of time and money. All you need is the right dirt pedal, honest. Besides, the 6Pro is 4 ohms min., and your 610 is already 4 ohms, so you can't add anything to your rig.
