I don't know why anyone would pay some one to pour hot sticky wax on their jewels and rip it apart.

The idea of being paid to pour wax on other people's jewels and rip it apart brings up lots of other questions that I don't want the answers to though.

Yeah - they always try to upsell. It's part of the job - like asking if you want fries with your Big Mac. Still - $80 was pretty pricey for where I am, but maybe not so much for where you are.

She trimmed me down to 1/4" before waxing.

Not necessarily. It partly depends on which wax they're using. If it's the hot wax with the paper/cloth strips, then they're more likely to trim. If it's a honey/sugar wax that needs no paper/cloth strips, then they're likely to leave it longer depending on how the esthetician was trained. If you ever cared to get it done again, get the honey or sugar wax. It's less painful when it comes off than the ones that use the strips.

No, she used what looked like a tongue depressor, she said she uses a different wax on the tender areas compared to she uses chest and back. The tender areas need tender care or the skin can be ripped off with the wax.

Thanks for the added info. I figured a Brazilian was the full kit. Doing just the front courtyard didn't seem all that bad. Getting the taint and the ol' stinkenheimer too? Takes a real man, for sure.

Ok, thought I had a sure bet, the stakes rose and I threw down the Brazilian Gauntlet to my friends, I just knew I was right. Well, as the title states, I lost.

I was terrified nervous, the main thing going through my mind, "What if I embarrass myself during the wax?". I can honestly say, there is nothing sexual about getting a Brazilian, just the opposite, it is kind of painful. The girl doing the wax was very sweet and professional, made me feel at ease the whole time. I am not sure I would do it again but it really wasn't as bad as I thought it would be.

Her Brazilian included all the areas your tighty whiteys cover.

She was trying to talk me into getting the chest, stomach, back, shoulders and underarms done as well for an additional $40. In these areas there is no special care and she can rip away with cheaper wax and the strips.

There is no stubble itch when regrowing from waxing, only from shaving. Fewer (if any) ingrown hairs either.

One of my friends told me a while back that his roommate's then-girlfriend, who was living with them at the time, once confidentially asked him if she could use his Rogain because she had been waxing for so long that the hair only grew back in uneven patches and she wanted it to all grow uniformly like it used to. I'm guessing she wanted to make a change to a landing strip or something.
