Hi everyone, its been a while since I've been on here (it was driving me to ridiculous GAS heights so I took some time out)

I currently play through a Trace Elliot GP12 SMX and a Hartke 4x10. I've had this rig for a long time and it has been great and I like the tone and personally think it has a great many tone options (not just that 90s vibe)

Anyway for a variety of reasons I am moving onto a boat and therefore need to downsize rather drastically. As I no longer play super loud rock music this is not a major issue. My two regular gigs are a sort of minimalist indie folk thing where I usually just go sansamp BDDI into the PA and a covers gig. The covers gig rarely has full PA support so I am required to add all the beefy bottom end myself.

My question for you knowledgeable chaps is: is there a diddy option that will still provide enough dispersion and BASS?

Ive had a little browse of mini rigs of doom and there are some great set ups on there. I'm looking for something quite clean, solid state Class D as I can add a little valve emulation with the BDDI.

The budget is not massive unfortunately. I would be buying second hand to save money. For camparisons sake I think a 2nd hand LMII or III (cant remember which) and a Markbass 102 HF (possibly P, again I cant remember) seem to go for about £600 which is pretty much my limit.

The other option I saw on the Mini rigs of doom forum was a little separate power amp and sansamp into a cab... is this a thing? A practical thing?

Anyway I hope ive given you enough info to go on...

Unfortunately I am UK based so the classifieds are a little out of my range. I have been on the uk Basschat ads but I wanna trim down my options before I get to stuck into them...

Weight is not an issue. Space is at a serious premium on a 6'10" x 55' canal boat and while my partner is letting me keep almost all my studio, the oversized and underused bassamp has to get smaller

Wow that looks like exactly what im after.... now to sell something to get the money!

would you be able to suggest any little power amps? my knowledge here is woefully inadequate

Well you could just see if barefaced have a class d plate amp they can wack on the back of the cab to make it powere'd, there are so many kit modules available today.
But if I am recommending a lightweight power amp now it's going to be a Crown XLS1000, they don't suck.:)
But then there is Crest and Peavey IPR's also very suck free products.
PS. There is also one name that is unmentionable here that begins with a B and ends with ringer, I wouldn't be seen dead with one personally but the great unwashed seem to find them serviceable.:-)

+1 on the Fender Rumble line. If 500 is more than you need, you might consider a 200.
I use a 500 with a fairly loud alternative rock band. I have had no problems with volume and I am very happy with the tone.
It does have a balanced line out, so you can feed the PA if necessary. The line it is post everything, so some sound guys get grumpy. I can always feed then from my Line 6 Basspod, but I'd rather not.

I think that would have been my view in the past.

If I understand the design of the BF One 10, the speaker moves twice as far as a standard 110, so the amount of air it moves is more like a 210.

If you look on Basschat, there is a get together next Saturday 26th in the SW London area. There are almost certainly going to be some Barefaced cabs there.

Thanks everyone! thats a good basis for my research! One final question, anyone have experience with the markbass 2X10? just they seem to crop up at an affordable price every now and then...

Thanks for the tip on the basschat get together! I will definitely be heading down!

The MarkBass CMD121, without a second thought - A 14" cube that is loud and clear enough to play nearly any indoor gig and some outside. When you need to play that big gig they can run the extension speaker with power to spare. They are starting to turn up used now and then. To my ear, the 1x12 sounds much better than the 2x10 and are smaller.

the markbass 210 traveler
great cab ..,the Schroeder mini 12 moves a lot of air also schroeder also makes a 110 and a 1 8 cab they are small light loud clear and 400 watt s i have a markbass ny604
which can handle most.gigs
