Low-cost DIY practice/coffeehouse tweeterless 110 [long]

Well here is a pic of the one I built from scratch and it is a keeper.

Also here are a couple more pics of the original built from what Duke listed and a pic of then both.

Tone very similar, but about all you can do with the 2010 is practice in your bedroom as far as I see. You actually would need two of the cabinets to do a small to med gig.

I have done a small gig with just one cabinet with the 2510 change.

Thanks to everyone who helped on this forum! Here is the TB110+ (with upgraded dimensions as talked about earlier in the thread) that I built for my friend and wedding officiant as a thank you. Top is the guts of a Sansamp VT bass and a Parts Express power amp. The cabinet is working well and I'm trying to get an Aux in jack working on the head so that my friend can run his e-drums through it as well. Great little cabinet for his home studio. At higher volumes I get a little bit of a buzz but I haven't put in the damping foam yet. Maybe that'll help. Or it could be something else in the room. Or the head, I guess.

So, after reading the whole thread, I thought I might make a slight mod.

Any issue using Penn-Elcom D0949K Dish One Neutrik D Black 4" x 4-3/8" and Invalid Link Removed for a little more versatility? I know the connector is PCB mount but I can solder. Or is it better just get the regular jack and a 1/4" adapter?

I was also going to put the folding handle on the bottom as a stand. The top will have a strap handle parallel to the speaker face to help hold a little amp. A friend is giving me a Crate CPB150 that should work well with a simple bypass cable or I may try and find a MB200, etc.

Any other suggestions? I plan to order as soon as the enclosures are in stock.

The MB200 is a great little amp. A pair of the cabs will take everything the MB200 can put out. It depends on how much volume you need. Is this a practice rig, an acoustic rig or are you thinking of multiples for live gigs?

I'm thinking of getting rid of my two. I'm just not using them. I have a lot of cabs.

It is a practice rig for me for the time being but I want some flexibility for whatever may happen down the road.

I'm 99% sure that the 2 pole is not what you want. I mistakenly have ordered them in the past. Speakon cables and jacks are, IME, always 4 pole type, even for mono applications. At least with the 2 pole jacks I received, you physically could not plug a 4 pole cable into it. I ended up making a 2 to 4 pole cable, which is great if you don't want other people using it, I guess.

Here's where I buy 4 pole combo jacks from. Maybe other places stock them now, but at least a year ago they were a rare bird.

My second gig with this cabinet. My keyboard/ in ear rig is heavier than the cab and head combined. That's my next weight trimming project...

I used the 250w 10" woofer from mcm and it sounds great in this cab. Total cost of all parts, including shipping, was about $90. The box was $28 on eBay, speaker was about $40 shipped, corners and grill about $11 total, then the handle was from a kustom monitor I bought for the woofer. However, it was farting out so I ordered the speaker box in the picture. Sounds great now, I'll build a mate at some point for when I may need 2, but that's going to be rare.
