Low Down Sound 15/6.5 Cab

I think Chef has the LF. No ribs = 3015LF. Ribs = 3015.

Mine has the ribs (for lack of a better term).

I've talked to Don and he's going to send me an LF. And it seems if was just a simple labelling mistake. No biggie at all on my end. He was very apologetic and sincere. But I'm completely satisfied with my purchase and have no doubts that Don will come through. I'm going to get a chance to A/B the LF/non-LF. I'll send him back the driver I don't want.

Sounds kind of crazy, but I'm really digging this cab as-is. I understand it speced for the LF, but DANG!, it sounds soooo good now! The prospect of it sounding better....Well.....It just blows my mind!! Kind of like wrapping my brain around quantum physics.

Where in Central Ohio do you live? We should probably be careful not to play through our cabs at the same time. It might form a black hole that will devour us all!!! :eek: :D

We can't wait to hear what you think. Honestly, I wonder if you will be able to tell the difference until you crank it pretty loud - or use a low tuning, or similar. I think the 3015 is grossly underutilized (like the 3012HO) as both are far superior to anything else used for electric bass other than the LF drivers, and require much smaller boxes than the LFs. The low end being "less" than LF drivers is not going to be obvious to someone coming from playing commercial cabs I wouldn't think.

It sure sounded deep and full and big to me, so that wouldn't surprise me at all. I again am relatively clueless about the inside of the boxes. It sounded darn good though, whatever it was!

Haven't really heard about any problems. I've played enough of them to know that the construction (wood, etc.) seems top notch. As with any cab, I would highly recommend a custom padded cover from LeCover.

I know TBer Vision and Burk are pounding their lightweights and have had no problems.

However, all second hand info.

And I prefer a somewhat mid-present tone. Not burpy or banjo-like. But mid present. Helps me cut through a little more and I feel that I don't have to dig in that much.

I admit, though, that my ears are not ultra sensitive. I wouldn't be surprised if I didn't hear that much of a difference. Especially since I'm a 4 stringer and my amp is a LMII (as opposed to a high power amp).

Time will tell......

My "main" group is Link Removed. Our schtick is 70's Pop covers. While everybody is complaing about a lack of work we still gig as much (or more) than ever. Good group and a good group of people.

(Please ignore the perfectly lousy demo. We've got a new, and much better, guitar player. Plus the mix on the demo is pretty bad, IMO. But it's good enough for us to get gigs!)

That's cool. We certainly aren't hurting for work, and we don't even have a professional promo kit (yet). Once we're confident in a new drummer, we'll probably update our demos, etc. I didn't play on any of the demos on my band's MySpace page.

That's good! I know of a lot of folks around here that are gigging less this past year than in previous years.

If you can get work without promo material, that's great! And pretty smart. Lots of bar owners/booking agencies just want a link to a website anyway.
