I would also go with a pair of 2x10's. Put the handles on the sides so that you can carry one in each hand vertically. Don does great work, but how well the cabs sounds will ultimately be up to your design and choice of drivers.
Yeah, I agree. I just haven't seen a 16 ohm 10" that I would love to put in a cab. Otherwise, it would have been done already. Believe me on that one.

Well, I gotta say, Don makes a mean cab. The 1515/66 has been thundering through everything I've thrown at it. I can make the speakers flub out if I pump too much bass into it, as in WAY too much bass; but I think I'll be able to get all tones I need out of it. The effects sound great, even the Pitchfactor and all the lovely highs that go with it.
The thing in massively loud, but I'm still trying to learn how to EQ it properly. There can be a harsh upper-mid peak from the 6ND10s if I don't tame it, and I'm trying to get a tone that can cut through, rather than just turning up (scalpel vs axe, etc.). Any suggestions? I have an Empress ParaEQ if anyone has any particular frequency bands in mind.
To tame that mid driver you need a graphic eq or use a parametric as a notch filter to remove a spike at around 4.2khz and 6.2khz. There is a switch for that on the new fearfuls but, Im pretty sure it's not scalpal enough to remove them. Probably just dips that whole range down a bit.

Or, you can opt for the Faital mid, which is much smoother and sweeter.

What LDS cab would you guys recommend for a church venue? Space is a big cube W40xH20xL30 (Almost) I would also get some DI action but the speakers they use are Mackies, 2 hanging from the rafters high above the pulpit and 2 on the sides in the back. They look like they're two-way w/ 12" woofers.
It depends on what kind if volume and coverage. I know some church gigs I do require very low volume and some let it rip. what amp would you run it through?

I believe I may not have done an adequate job of explaining the cab I'm having Don build for me. Imagine a pair of vertical 2x10 cabs sitting side by side, then imagine their sides being glued together, essentially creating a single 4x10 cab that has two pairs of vertical 2x10's that are side by side, each in their own sealed chamber. I want the top width to be 25" so that my 24" wide amp (Ampeg B25B tube amp) will sit nicely on top.
And the drivers will be 32-ohm each, meaning each pair of 2x10's will be 16 ohms, which matches the two 16 ohm outs from the amp.
Yes, I could wire the four 32-ohm drivers all in parallel to be an 8ohm 4x10 cab, and use the dummy plug trick in the back of the B25B amp to use the 8 ohm tap, but if I wired the cab that way, I would not have the option of using a single vertical pair, and I want that option.
Hopefully that clarifies. If not, I blame myself for lack of writing ability!
I think that we both understood, it's just that this type of cab has been disussed alot in the past as one for an svt using a pair of 4 ohm chambers instead. That was before the B810's came out by the way.
From experience, I thought that you may want an easier cab to carry. Those dimensions make it tough to get through doors, etc.
I would love to hear a vertically stacked, sealed cab using a pair of eminence Bp102 drivers crossed over to the new Patriot 820H 8" driver at 300hz. That would sound really good and probably weigh around 45lbs. maybe I'll have one made.

Btw, I have had Don make me cabs before, and I just want to say that I think his quality of build, his pricing structure, and the wide selection of options makes LDS a no brainer and one of the best deals available.
For the record, I have no affiliation with LDS. I just wanted to give that cheer for Don as he deserves it, IMO.
Yeah, I have seen many posts from TB'ers wishing for half of a fridge cab with that impedance setup. It makes sense!
Another cool cab that I'd like to see someone build is a sealed 3x10. A pair of eminence Bp102's crossed over to a copperhead at 300hz. That would be alot of whump in a managable box. Vertically stacked of course.
