Another cool cab that I'd like to see someone build is a sealed 3x10. A pair of eminence Bp102's crossed over to a copperhead at 300hz. That would be alot of whump in a managable box. Vertically stacked of course.

Basically halfof a thought that's been floated around in my head... a sealed 610 with 4 4 ohm BP102;s and 2 16 ohm guitar drivers(8 ohm with passive xover). zMy idea was that it would be a perfect match for an 800RB.
Put the BP's in an "L" with the pair of guitar drivers vertical.

wouldn't that bring us back to 10s (especially multiple 10s) being pointless if crossed over that high? wouldn't you just wanna use the ol' 6" mid driver?

Walt, read up on .5 alignment. This is not a 2-way crossover.

We went with 6 Eminence B810s.

Advin, could u briefly explain the difference between crossed over and full range and what it will do for ur sound in ur 610.5? sorry im still learning. Thanks!

Having one side crossed over, in this case at 500hz, can help with dispersion. It improves the sound depending on the room and when off axis.

so we're talking about that 3x10 or 6x10 running the low end to all the speakers, and just taking the highs out of some of them?

that makes more sense i guess; you've got a 10 or two running full range, with the additional 10s in the box only providing sub support duty.

If I understand it correctly, the low end hits all six 10s while the frequencies above the crossover point only go through one vertical array (so three of them).

No, in my 610, 1 column of speakers are full range, and the other column is crossed over at 500 hz.

Are you saying that the "other column" is (effectively) 500 Hz and up or 500 Hz and down?

If "500 Hz and down" that's what I wrote, just in a different way.
